currently Unexplained. Burgo I see where you are coming from but she is still somebody's daughter. A loss of a life is still a loss of a life. Sad.

Unexplained so far. Shame, nobody deserves to die, but I've always held that her talent was wasted, excellent voice, just too many personal issues and never a good solution, especially as she was always in the public eye for her "mistakes"
Either way, terrible waste of a life

It's sad news, i didn't really like the sort of person she was but she was 27 and obviously very troubled, i don't get the half wit comments like whos cares, someone has died and most probably took there own life due to severe depression.

Just read this tragic news via PNG, it's a sad loss of an all too rare talent. RIP.

I would agree, although it's perfectly acceptable not to care just don't say anything lol
RIP to a very talented singer.

R.I.P such a shame
We all have our vices.
Thats sad, whats even more sad is some peoples comments.
Everyone makes mistakes
I suppose things like this happening are always going to divide people but if you chose to abuse drugs to the extent she did, then sorry but i find it hard to care. Id be much more likely to shed a tear for the poor bloody kids who were shot at a summer camp in norway. But rip anyway

tbh i dont feel happy about saying my peace about the poor kids in Norway till i truly know what has happened over there ither way alot of people have lost there lives this week well before there time
Yeah she had her issues, but its still a mega waste for someone with such a unique talent.
Just a shame she couldn't sort out her issues.
Play with fire, get burnt. Unfortunate, but the assumption is always that a death is drugs related when someone has such a history of abuse.
As for her talent, I thought she was sh!t when she was alive, and I still think she's sh!t now lol
But yeas, the worst thing about this is people getting all uptight about one drug addict copping it, yet nobody gives a fcuk about Norway. Thats the tragedy.

jack, i agree with most of your comments, apart from my opinion that she was a pretty good singer.
i think that the whole news of the world scandal blowing up like it did would have actually taken a lot of the pressure off her, and made her life easier, but when someone is as troubled as her its usually a matter of when not if....
as for the norway thing, that is just terrible. the fact that he dressed as a cop so the kids thought he was there to protect them horrified me.
after the bombing of the pm's office, 2 different islamic groups claimed they'd done it.....
the full truth of that story is still to come out, and it won't be nice reading.
Cool so theres a thread about a single "celebrity" but not about 90+ innocent norwiegens that got killed? ive never had time for her and never will.

its a difficult one, as more british people have had a connection of some sort with amy winehouse & her music, than they did with the people of norway.
personally, i'm glad there isn't a norway thread ....yet.
Mmm true, I wasnt attempting to be rude or anything, it is a said loss

As said by others, good singer/writer, loss of talent, but now immortalized in music history for ever, although i think it's obvious this would happen at some point..
she was pretty messed up and should of went to rehab. quote from her own song "They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"

I think its sad that somone lost there little girl, also think its sad we all lost a good singer. I dont think its sad we lost another drug adict. She really did not portray a good image for young people to follow. Shame they money she made paid to kill her! As for norway, another psycho extremest. Rip for all the kids who lost there innocent lives.

what did she O.D on?
It's not been said that she od'd it's just assumption and probably is what happened
I have no time for drug addicts wether or not she was a good singer/songwriter
Like someone else said if you play with fire you will get burnt
Obviously is a sad loss for her parents etc but being an "icon" in the music industry she wasn't portraying herself very well
Thats sad, whats even more sad is some peoples comments.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Andy again.:thumb:

Sad indeed, I never liked her image and the way she portraided her life outside of music was the darkside of her probably wanting some sort of normality away from her massive lifestyle, sadly her's was a class A drug.
I drink beer every night and also smoke everyday, does this make me as bad? Probably not as they're legal drugs.
She was well liked on the music scene though but her music wasn't my cup of tea, I suspect though when I've been hearing her songs all week like "Valerie" I'll start to like her.
Rip Miss Winehouse.
She squandered her own life, the Norwegians didn't get that option. One of England's greatest artists died earlier this week, there's no media buzz about that. It's princess Di/Jade F*cking Goody, public outpouring of grief time yet again. Get some perspective.

It's hard to have a lot of sympathy for someone who managed to get in an enviable position where she could use her talent and be successful, yet decided to waste it all. Since I don't read the tabloids I don't know every detail, but she seemed fully intent on living her life the way she did.
