Who's a budding bedroom DJ then? Whats your setup (show) and what style of music are you spinning?
Me I'm on the verge of buying up some CDJ's (not Pioneers). Many people are pointing me toward Traktor & Laptop based stuff, but tbh I want to physically insert my discs into something & use the devise with my hands rather than spend my time sat at a desk using my mouse. DnB for me.

Pioneer CDJ's are awesome, but well pricey & not really necessary for a learner. I wanted turntables years ago when I was at college, seeing as buying vinyl is an expensive hobby, downloading tunes & burning them is waay cheaper.

How much is that then for a Traktor setup Simps?
i've got a few mates who dj. think all of them are on pioneer cdj 1000s but sure one has a vinyl set up aswell. the one i'm pals with best does mostly hardstyle (not really my thing) and has played at the arches (biggest club in glasgow) and down in england a few times aswell. other mates do trance, house, techno, dubstep, DnB, all sorts between them all basically.

Traktor Scratch Duo is for just 2 decks and what I was using with my 2x turntables and own mixer(http://www.musicmatter.co.uk/native-instruments-traktor-scratch-duo-2). Traktor Pro has more features and allows use with up to 4 decks (http://www.musicmatter.co.uk/native-instruments-traktor-scratch-pro-2).
If you wanted to buy some turntables the ones I've been borrowing are Stanton decks. Same as 1210s but they're actually torquier. I could probably get my mate to sell them for £150 if you're interested. You would then just need a mixer as you wouldn't want to be using the one on the laptop with the software.
But this is the shizzle! If I was starting again from scratch I would go with this kit tho. Its an ace USB controller and at the moment they're doing the siftware for free with it. With the free software you still get the timecoded vinyls & CDs if you wanted to run CDJs or turntables later. When you think thats normally the price of like one Pioneer CDJ I think its a bargain - http://www.musicmatter.co.uk/native-instruments-traktor-kontrol-s4
one of: http://www.decks.co.uk/products/gemini/ps02_usb Traktor acting as the decks, 2 usb's in the back covers input and output for recording, job done... got mine for £30 off ebay, can do it that way with non usb stuff as well but need to funk around with sound cards.

Which ones? Never had anything but trouble with citronic.
A bit like anything but rubbish tools make a job harder. I started with a set of rubbish turntables and found it very hard to use.
I moved onto cdj 800's which for the price you cant fault at all! Very good turntables. Then came the cdj1000's which once again where good but depends how good you are. If you cant use all the functions on the 800 its not worth getting 1000s.
After that I got some sldz 1200s which worked very well for scratching etc but where much harder to use. The platter spins like a propper turntable unlike the cdjs.....After these came the CDJ2000s which If Im honest with you are a waste of money. Too much rubbish on them which you wouldnt use.
If you want to go to using a computer you really do kill the fun of it imo. However you can do some really cool stuff with them. I used serato for a while which is IMO of corse the best.
Whatever you use you can have fun, I would find a set of CDJ 800's and get rid of the citronics.......
Good luck
