Gunk on wheels.

When i was under my car securing the bottom of my bumper i noticed that on of the front wheels is clean on the inside rim but the other looks really dirty and blck. Whats this likely to be? A split boot or something? I dont seem to be brake fluid but oil with brake dust stuckk to it.

either boot or oil is dripping on the inner bit.

Could be youve driven through something?

Is it thick and greesey? If so prob gonna be axle greese from cv boot.

I haven't touched it but it looks think and greasy. Cant have been there years cos i have had the wheels on and off a few times and cleaned them.
