My 1.0l Nova Hatch

Hi people i was ment to make a project thread ages ago but never got round as everthing was on a go slow i have lost the pics from the first half or it but basically i bought my nova about a year and a half ago after failing a mot on some welding and decided as its my first car ill make a project out of it and get it back to top condition the plan is:

All new wings and front panel
full re spray
sri red and grey interior
engine fully rebuilt
engine powder coated
big brakes
slightly lowered suspension
refurbed fan blades
probably missed a few bits but ill add as i go

Progress so far engine is stripped and back from powder coating (pics later) the shell is stripped and storred out of the way untill its re spray in august interior has been sourced just needs a good clean and most of the parts are bought and waiting to arrive.

The Plan is to hopefully to have it done by october get a few miles on it and take it on the png track day for a laugh :thumb:

The chain cover gasket need some persuation from a dremel and a copper and hyde after being powder coated

yes i thought the same thing when i bought the job lot of a bloke on here and you forgot to notice 3 grab handle but he was a good bloke and chucked the lot in as spares

Attention to detail is fantastic..... until it gets to the gearbox, lol. (i hope it and the steering rack/brake servo will be getting cleaned up) Nice to see a nova with the original engine

Ah, i see! (id give both a quick blast with some rattle cans to keep it "in keeping" with the rest of the lovely coated bits)

the only un original bits are sri spoiler, bumpers have been sprayed black and possible gsi skirts but not conviced, either the tinted rear lights that are on there atm standard lights or clears or half red half clears decisions decisoins oh and lowered a little bit =]

I didnt want him going to mental with it if a. hes not gonna keep it long or b. the bay gets chopped about for a transplant of sorts. Just made economic sense.

an update nearly a year on ! :eek:

this ones not stictly a car update but one to get things going haha

so after a little accident with a puddle which later decided it would leave my ignition on with no key in made a mess with my loom i decided its time to put the new engine in which ill tell you spec soon but basically a highly modded 1.3 on twin webbers

so today i decided to turn my unused shed into a engine rebuild area lol

then to some materials which went down to b&q and found an of cut work top counter for £30 and a few legs a bag of screws and off we go lol

i keep my budgets down as i do all my own work bar spraying and specialist bits like powder coating and ultra sonic cleaning

hi bud got all my stuff from my local engine builders wasnt cheap bear in mind think the rings and shells cost me over £150 iirc and why do you need new pistons?

a up m8 ye everything now adays is dear. the reason for pistons is that the bore may need a rebore n my self i think its best to have pistons when rebuilding it as iam thinkin of putin everything else new in it but i'm havin trouble findin a set i just wanted some help with where to try. your engine looks the dogs m8 lol gd luck with the build m8 :thumb:
