Hi,

I have just got hold of a set of original Nova Sport carbs and need a bit of info/help on what I need to get them on my SR and working.

Here is a pic of what I have got

What else am I going to need other than the alt lowering bracket?

Is there a particular throttle cable that will fit straight on?

Are the fuel pipes correct or will I need to change them?

Also in this pic you can see that the screws for holding the choke cable are missing, where can I get these?

Any help much appreciated as I have always wanted twin 40s on one of my novas but losing heart thinking I will never get these on and running.

If anyone has the parts I need I will buy them off you also.

Thanks

You have a "Sport" Centre Pull linkage, I have made a couple of spare throttle cable brackets (might be persuaded to part with one), as a set of carbs I got didn't have one either.

Not sure what to advise cable wise, except "Sport" again, not sure what alternatives are usable.

Weber agent should be able to supply any other bits (I haven't got the choke connected on my SR)

The throttle cable bracket, is that the part that attaches to the ball on the carb throttle lever? I have search for info but can't see much about what I need info on.

I did see something about using a 2.0 cavalier cable?

It attaches to the 2 central inlet manifold bolts and carries the cable, centrally to pick up the ball on the linkage, it also has the throttle closure spring, I will sort a picture, but not tonight;)

Whats that I have in the first pic next to the carbs and inlet?

I thought that is what the throttle cable attached to?

1300 Mk1 Astra is the closest match for a throttle cable IIRC

Might be some bits here that may help you, also worth giving QED a call ;)
