A mate of mine has just bought a Nova GSi and is determined to get 18" wheels on it, I just wondered if anyone elce has done this before or anyone could tell me the problems that are going to arise trying to fit these wheels on.

Or a good argument for him not to bother even trying cause it's me that's going to be doing all the work that's for sure.

I dunno mate I'm trying to find out.

Were borrowing a pair of 18's soon so it might be a case of putting them on and seeing what need cutting, bending ect.

The car has been lowered but all the suspention is being taken off and replaced wit coilovers and the bushes are being replaced wit polyurathain items, and it's having the wide arch kit put on so plenty of chance to chop a lump of the wing out.

it has been done a few times before. I know Breeny had 18s on his old nova

COOL COOL.

It's gonna be hard work that's for sure but that's sort of what I wanted to hear, the fact that it's been done before.

its easy if you get the right wheels. there are about 3 sets with et49 which i saw a few months back in a mag.

19's have been done so it is possible to do 18's although some wheels suppliers may tell you otherwise

i have a funny story about 17's too. about 4 or 5 years ago i had 17" Imolas on my GTE. sent my then G.F into our local motorstore (complete prats) to ask for a price on 17's.

they laughed at her and said:
"ah no, sorry hun but you won't be getting 17's on to a Nova i'm afraid"

She said:
"what do you know about it?, i want a price not advice and look outside the window and tell me are them wheels on the car 17's or am i loosing my mind"

then she turned and walked out!!
it was very funny as i never had seen any other Nova in Ireland on 17's that time(5 yrs ago) and the face on the guy in the shop was priceless!
