17's - Acceleration

I can get hold of acheap set of 17" Kahns, but does badly affect acceleration? I have been told it will slow your car down quite a bit 0 - 60?

bollox the fact that they weigh more will only slightly slow you down the wider wheel will give you alot more grip when booting it plus 17 will look shit hot with good tyres yoko pluses will out weigh the negatives

they do slow u down on 0-60 but when u get goin they are ok

I reckon it depends on the engine you have in the car, a 1.2 on 17's would be so slow it would be painful!!! but a 2.0 on 17's would still beat most other cars anyway.

macca mate it would slow it down! the wheel will have to turn more! it will add top end speed though!

not noticibly, about 1/2 second on quarter mile
only arse you if u getting proper datron timed 0-60s or drag stripping
i'll bring a spare set of wheels the pod and see what difference it makes
