View Full Version : How to adjust the bonnet cable

Hi all, I am trying to adjust my bonnet cable on the nova but having no luck, I have played about with the screw on the slam pannel but I still cant get rid of the slack thats near the release spring any help on this would be good ?

is it slipping on the slam panel about in the holder for the slam panel, but there is not really any adjustment, you just put it on and then tighten it in to the slamp panel so it does not move and away it goes!

Loosen the screw on the slam panel, pull cable to your right (and hold) standing in front of the car and tighten screw back up.

Hey Tony Do I pull the cable till it starts to move the latch ?

Not quite, you want to leave a bit of slack or it will snap easier.

Ive tried that and nothing it just wont open still too much slack is there a certain route the cable should go to make it work

Heres a pic of how the cable is routed I am not sure if this is right also it is only connected by the screw on the slam panel is this correct ?

Cable is stretched than, try a new one?...

no sure if a corsa cable would work
you could maybe fit an adjuster from a bike brake lever to the cable an take up the slack by turning the adjuster

Just an update on the nova bonnet it is now sorted I got a corsa b cable from scrap yard for afew quid now its all working fine.
