Is it right for gazzes to be so dam harsh when i hit a pot hole or a small speed hump it seems to hard iam worried this is gonna put stress on the shell. the shocks arnt on the lowest ride height ive removed the helpers that is it.The shocks came with alloy top mounts and felt much better but i sold them and returned to the origials but noticed a knocking noise now and again could the top mounts be f****d........????????

soften the damping off then.

Depends on the spring rates maybe, seeing as you received them 2nd hand. Deffo soften the damping. I reckon you may have the top mounts installed wrong. It took a fair bit of head scratching when I did it with the OE ones.

Also don't confuse harsh/poor suspension with the negative effects of 'slamming' a Nova. Go to near the bump stops & it will bounce like crazy or worse bottom out regularly. Uprated/poly bump stops are a necessity.

carnt adjust the damping as there isnt any settings on them. The top mounts are installed right i done them dozens of times also the ride height is no way near fully decked. will give poly bumpstops ago.wheres the best place to get them?ta

Tweeks for Powerflex ones??? They are good.

GAZ coillies should be adjustable, even the regular GHA models. They dont normally have helper springs either. Any pics?

I kept the OE spring seat, but it seemed odd to do that as the coilover has its own upper spring seat, but obv the top mount bearing is within that part.

GAZ shocks are really hard even on softest setting

Turn them up and they become rock solid

Mine had a hex nut adjuster on the top (same size as the hex on piston top) , no settings just turn either direction, maybe they did have a notch, cant remember.

those top adjustable ones only change the rebound setting not the bump setting. You can adjust them with an 8mm spanner or socket iirc.
