Need some help on my van,im a retard and have just installed some white puma clocks (digital mileage) in my 2000 1.8d Escort Van as i was cabbaging out looking at black uns all day.
Anyway,all is fine except the rev gauge,is it possible to get that working at all??

rev counters read different on the diesels,only way i think would be to remove the rev counter from the clocks and fit a diesel one if possible, when i put the cav white dials in i just swapped the dial face onto the diesel clocks as i knew i wouldnt get it working,
there will be a way around it but im not 100%,
i have been looking into it though as my clocsks rev counter dont work on the mk4 either
Random hijack along this subject, a guy at work has restored an XR3i soft-top and he cant get the rev counter to work, he has tried about six sets of clocks and cant get it working, the original set he had were for an EFi and his is MFi but all of the others he has tried (supposedly MFi ones) dont work, any suggestions?

he needs to use correct mfi clocks,if he fits efi ones the rpm signal will only read half as the efi works off the wasted spark like rs1600i models,
The rev counter on mfi picks up the negative pulses from the coil trigger (green wire if i remember correctly). On the wire is a filter (small black box usually near the coil) try replacing this and checking the wire between the filter and the rear of the clocks. Or just run a new wire up to the back of the clocks.
efi runs from the ecu, with me converting to efi on mfi clocks i have tgged my rpm into pin 11 on the edis module which gives me a clean signal,
andy have you got a rev counter alternator as the diesels need to have a proper alternator with the optional spade for it to read from,also why didnt you get proper escort td clocks instead and change dial faces?

Have the standard alt david,i got these as getting a td set with rev gauge meant buying 2 sets of clocks to white face them,im not overly bothered tbh,i just thought if there was a quick way to sort it then i would.
