i managed to smash my rear window when removing it for painting, i got a replacement and fitted it but the heated bit dosnt work

my old one did, should i be getting voltage through the plug that goes onto the screen when turned on? as im not and all fuses seem ok

check the whole of the element with a fine tooth comb, a magnifying glass would be a bonus, look for the slightest break. sounds like you will find one or two :)

you can get (try maplins/ebay etc) silver paint that was used years ago for repairing tracks on circuit boards, apply with a cut down artist brush just 2 or 3 bristles as you only need the slightest drop.

Maybe also try cleaning the connectors on the screen. Use a bit fine sand paper to shine them up.

Yeah I've heard about that paint stuff, shouldn't I still bf getting a voltage or something from the plug?
