Z18XE from a corsa c, put it on jenveys makes a fast nova better than any c20xe because it will go round bends also x14 and x16 are hard to get any torque from.

Still cant believe nobody has fitted a 2.2 on TB's yet. Alloy block for lightness, reverse head a la BTCC Swindon engine and 150bhp to start

Because the Z22SE is a terrible engine for tuning! Even doing most of it yourself you are looking at £6-7K for a 230bhp engine + purchase and also making the F23 work in a nova lol.... Would sooner just SC one for £3K and have 250bhp with ease.

OR take the Saab 2.0 which is the same engine but happy to rev and get more power for less cash and keep NA :)

Buy a C16xe engine to save any hassle in wiring as it cuts out the immobiliser nonsense, the X16xel has the better head according to SBD, also fit a powerbox of some variety as you'll gain power very easily :)

Have to say the e16se is a really good little engine in a nova light and with some tuning can reach some good power figure and is prity bullet proof I had one in my old car had a good few bob spent on it but was a flyer get it on a twisty road nothing would touch it in my opinion it's the best one for the job little dated but still well up for it

Smallblock XE with a powerbox. Going much further will cost quite a bit.

It was done to a Corsa B, quite a lot of work & the engine hung out of the bonnet.

Pretty much lol

I'm sure I read Craig green saying his 1.6 8V turbo was faster than XE novas and he had a 16V 1.6 turbo aswell, IIRC comptoncj had it up for sale recently.

Craig's 8v Courtenay turbo conversion would beat my XE all day long, plus his nova still had the ability to go round a corner lol ...it used to annoy the hell out of me lol

For me personally it's the 1300. Really nice small engine, can't wait till my 1300 turbo lump is ready
