I'm getting my car custom sprayed , do i have to notify the dvla of change of colour???????????????

recon so as u have 2 change it on the log book 2 say the cars a different colour

yeah you do, just fill in the change or part,

fill in the colour change and the date from


if your feeling really nice get a colour change plate for under the bonnet, but u dont have to. you know the one with all the numbers on

you also need to tell yer insurance company

They base any work on the records held about the car - you get a custom spray job and prang it its gonna cost them a hell of a lot more to shell out.

Check it dont invaludate the policy - some companies wont insure cars with custom spray jobs (classed as a body modification)

Also - did you know that the colour can affect the premium - black and red are the most stolen colours where as green is the least stolen!
