Rob Smiths Spider,
LOL thats not finished!!
Dec's old car is off the road - major gearbox fook up caused a spin and a bit of damage at a trackday - is being fixed at the mo. I think.
I dont really have a top ten list but I rate Brett Warburtons as the best prepared Nova I've ever seen. Some others come close Mark Beesons to name one. The consistently fast/most effectively driven ( seen it a few times on track and up the strip) is Darren Ludlams ( Luggys) IMO.
Was impressed with Breeny's at PV03 esp with the wheels hes got on it now - looks really clean plus it goes pretty bloody well up the strip.
Dans got a bit of a stealth machine - I was impressed with the times he posted.
My favourite Nova of all times tho was MC's 1.4 ( Alas now just a rotting shell in my yard but I have plans for it  ) It was the first time I realised just how fast and effective a 1.4 could be. We had some fun with it  Halcyon days 8)

I have only seen about 3 of the mention ones so far.
From the pictures etc i like CP's and what i have heard about it.
Nova X is well built but not to my taste as is Dan Paynes
Colin Smiths Rally car was very impressive.
But my favorite was Brians wide arch 2.0l 16v.
dont forget David P's ex-Nova was good...the silver valver, with NOS in back,
now sold and plated F7 1OUD
1. CP's
2. Lawrence Bonds (4.5secs to 60mph from a 1400!)
3. Brett Warburton
4. Dec Burks
5. John Shields
6. John Knowls
Don't know who owns the others I like.
MC
My fave is this one
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=613
looks so aggresive and not to ott :D
thats what i want my car to look like
Brett W- utter perfection
Dave lius turbo-now owned by breeny........
Riks (dont care if you say its not finished gimp)
Cps -mental
Chris Ws- looks perfect and individual
Phil lofthouses yellow thing
Dan paynes-for being nuts and breaking the mould
Martin Weavers SRi
My old one -pre being muppetised
Ians old one
keith robinsons one is very nice also
Geds old one (after he sprayed it lamborghini pink-looked mental )
theres too many to list to be honest
Mine. lol
Lee Bayntons 1.2
Rick Draper's
Dan Payne's
Brett Warburtton's
Breeny's
Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't know why Mike Oxford's, not mental maybe not finished but the bollox.
Tony Dryden's
Dean Harken's 2.0 16v turbo
and by far the nicest for me is Lee Haslam's. I think that thing is the abs. dogs danglers, inspired me to go GSi and not kit mine.
Theres loads I can think of but these are some of the ones that spring to mind.
Brett W's,
Cp's,
Phil Lofthouse

Ramis silver gsi with the bbs wheels (havnt heard from him in ages though) This is his older car, think silver with the same wheels..
http://www.breeny.co.uk/rami.jpg
Scotts smooth blue one http://www.breeny.co.uk/scottc3.jpg, Dans yellow Beast
Karthiks runaround simply for doing something very different
and last but not least Chris T's...
But like I said, there are so many nice cars around at the mo, would be a bit unfair to pick a "top ten"

ahhhhhh!!
I seen what ya mean!
I admire many of the novas on this site and in the forums,
If some of us got together and had the cash we could produce a totally original car from scratch and it would be beautiful.
Doresnt even need to be a nova - could be anything
We are tallented! (most of us anyway)
I couldnt name a top 10 but I think my number 1 would have to be the yellow one Breeny Posted above or DJP's yello beasty - love the bonnet!
thats almost the same as I want my next project to look - a few changes to the bonnet and exterior, totally different interior mind, but the look and
colour are exactly right - colour especially.
Makes me feel happy looking at it - nice bright happy car - probably a total animal to drive
Austins Bus Is another Top Nova IMO

I'm shocked i've had some mentions, concidering my Engine resembled a mouse on a wheel...lol I'm the only 1.2 in the whole this post!
Thanks :o
I've decided not to rush the car for this year and instead work on it until next year, slowly, not spending as much per week as usual and live a little. Then i'll be able to forfill all the plans i want, instead of just some of them.
My List (ten's too little)
Rick Draper
Brett Warburtton
Breeny
Martin Weaver
Ian Storey
Dec Burke
Karl Rowntree
Andrew Bishop
Lee Haslum
Alex Magee (mate of mine, watch out, this nova's been rebuilt for the last 4 years, after winning car of the show Trax 1999, should be at trax 2003 lookin much different)
Chris T
Nick Caro
Mark Beason
CP
Rob Smith
Ian Holmes
Rob Delicata
A16VTB
And last but not least, Marcus's A 16v 00, First max power front cover car from Northern Ireland (sorry if i've missed anyone, i love too many novas to remember them all)

I can't really list a top ten, as there are a lot of quality novas about at the mo.
I rate Brett's and Dan Paynes as two of my fave's though.
But then i just like the Nova anyway - the shape and etc, and any 'mint' condition one is great to me anyway.
Be it heavily kitted, or just a smoothed and subtle one. Anything 'tastefully' done, even if it's really 'wild', everything should complement the overall effect of the car.

Been sent a few pics recently of a couple of novas that shud make the top 10 soon but there owners aint sure if they will be done in time for this years shows or not. Rick
hopefully mine will be at some shows this year! trial fitting the engine 2moz after loads of hassle!
What about the two Isaac Hunt Nova's?. They aint pretty cars, but they are faster than anything else I've seen on here.
lol plenty of quicker ones, luggys beastys breenys etc etc etc
Just how fast are those Isaac Hunt ones? I need a benchmark..

Just logged on to novaload, good to c some of you like my car. Tend to look at in a different way when its your own! :D
A few of my favorites r
Ian Holmes, hope mines this clean 1 day!
Andy Bishops, will b better now we r re building it
Rob d's, keeps me entertained with his tv
Martin Weavers, uses it pretty much every day and its still mint
Brett Warburtons, amazing build quality
Nick caros, got to get one of those alcantara roof linings nick!
Mark Harrisons, loads of one off parts, look out for his next car
 never even heard of the isacc hunt novas!
would have thought most are on phase 3? so bench mark would may be 300bhp? im hopeing to clear at least 320bhp as ive got a few mods over the std kits availible :?: but ill soon find out!
Well he was running the 2.0 8V turbo this year which is the same lump as last year but tweaked apparently. But didnt use NOS this year as they only finished it the night before Pod.
This year I think he ran 14ish secs? Which was only a shade of the Subaru killing time of last year with the gas.
Luggy's went like stink and looked the part, deffo in my top 10.
14secs?
think breeny has beaten that already this year?

http://mig.lathwood.co.uk/upload/c/cimg0029.jpg I recon that this nova will be cracking some fast times this year  Rick
Was that crossmember chopped about for the intercooler?
Got any pictures of the welding being finished?
Cheers.

Thats how the car looks at the minute, they have had to put a fair bit of metal into the crossmember to keep the strength there, there is a piece of 2" box section steel welded in behind that new front pannel to support the whole lot. Loads more work to be done on the car as a whole before it is done though, it needs the F28 mount welding in, the engine rebuilt and the wheels sorted out. Rick

Mine are in no oder really.
Bretts. Lets be honest, this thing is the closest thing to perfection you can get.
Breenys. Just love it.
K's. 1st nova on 19's, got to give the man credit.
RJ Automotives nova. Dont know whos it is.
Have always liked the bright orange one with novadose kit, twin headlights and a sunstrip which said skeatte or something. Not sure if you know which one I'm on about.
Ians storeys blue. Another real nice one.
The black one with gullwing doors, pic of it earlier
Kingdoms nova (pinky)
There more but Im not very good with descriptions if u hadnt already noticed.

Think you are on about Dans old car before it hit a wall.
The blue isaac hunt nova did a 13.6 @ PV2003, and it's only a 2.0 8v turbo.

2.08v Turbo on NOS. I think he did that at last years PV, he was up against a Scooby and pipped it to the line, got a massive cheer from the croud :D Didn't see him reach into the 13's this year, but I might be mistaken.

Impressed that my car has appeared a few times in people's top ten, It's off the road at the moment having a full rebuild, hopefully back on the road early on next year, Check out www.nova-turbo.co.uk, i'll try to keep it updated as much as possible.
Here's my top ten Nova's
In No particular Order!
K95 _Ben_ 's Nova,
Rob Delicata's Clean Gsi
Ian Holmes concouse GTE
Karl Rowntree's Carb'd Valver
Bretts Warburton's
Mark Harrison's - RJ Automotive's Turbo
James Austins Blue 16v off Novaload
Nick Caro's valver now on Throttle Bodies
Rick Drapers Turbo
Martin Weaver's Blue SRi - Will be complete when we get the Turbo in it!

Best time last year was 13.77 with noz, this year was 13.6 without,
I know that lug did a 13.2, however most of his runs were around 13.6 iirc, this shows the output of the 8 valve as both cars are about the same in every other way
Cheers for that. Must have missed him doing his runs, unless he's changed the colour of the car?
Intresting that he did a better time this year without the NOS. Did he have more boost or something?
Jim
His car was blue this year, didnt have a massive issachunt sticker on it, it had lots of others aswell it was a light blue car!
Cheers for that. Must have missed him doing his runs, unless he's changed the colour of the car?

Jim
Only difference is the tyres and the ecu which I fitted and mapped.
Today at pod the car did 13.347 witout gas
and
13.097 with gas, 30 degree charge temps ment we could not get into the 12's, not bad for an 8 valve
Theres loads of Novas out there that are worthy of top ten. Bretts is posibly my fave, and Ians old one was sweet. Saw Nick Caros for the first time at billing, it is indeed a fantastic car. Basically any Nova with a centre around driving rather than tarting around.
Its got to have good sensible power(for the chassis) be pretty clean.

i was against the blue isaac hunt nova on sunday, it destroyed me with a stupid time some where in the 13s.
plus i beat a cossie down the strip thought i'd meantion that just cos i dont like fords.
Quote from south wales car club:-
He did a 13.097 1/4, with a terminal speed of 114.48 MPH, so he now owns the fastest FWD Vauxhall in the UK, unless anyone Knows of another FWD Vaux that has set a faster time.
That was the issac hunt nova last sunday!

"Not bad for an 8 valve" he says ;)
I remember seeing a light blue car running 13's, didn't realise it was the Issac Hunt one.
