arch work will always be needed with 17s on a nova, how low do you want to lower it?

17"s you will have to roll the rear arches and maybe trim the lip off the fronts, knock in the inner arches and then still lose some off your lock :o

Once again incorrect information, with 17's you can get full lock even with a 60-80mm drop on the front i know this for a fact. You will only need to tap the rear inner arches slightly if at all for -60-80mm and roll all the arch lips flat, once again i know this for fact. Rick

Once again incorrect information

Not at all i know at least 5 people that have lost differing variations off lock due to fitting 17" wheels.

In your personal experience you may not have suffered but you cant speak for every person that has ever fitted 17" wheels and to call it incorrect advice because you do not agree is not correct.

They must have brought the wrong offset of wheels then like 48-49mm offset and yes i can call it incorrect as i know of at least 10-14 other prople with novas lowered with 17's that have not had to touch the inner arches of there cars to fit 17's. All you need is the right offset so please do not question me in future. I have also tryed different types of 17's on my car all in 45mm offsets with different makes of 205/40*17 tyres on and all fit on my car and other novas i have had no problems. I recon that your mates cars have all seen a bit of car in cerb action and are all bent/missaligned in someway. Rick

i got some alloys, 17 by about 7 or 8 inches (second hand, cheap havent measured em yet). tried em on the front and they just about squeeze on with standard sr suspension. on the back they go about an inch and a half past the arch out wards, and i couldnt let the jack down anymore as they also need about 1 inch off the arch just to fit. maybe im a tard i dunno. but they r not the ideal offset by far. so wide arch kit was purchased.... :D
