Just about finished wiring a digital dash into my mk1. Problem is Im unsure on one last wire.

My mk1 was originally a carb model so we wired the brown with yellow trace wire (choke) to the dials as the ecu light when the c16xe went in. Problem is I have 2 spare wires from the Digi dash, one of them is a brown with yellow trace and a brown with blue trace.

Is the brown with blue trace the Astra GTE Digi dash ecu light? If so is it correct I just join the nova brown with yellow trace to the Astra brown with blue trace and just discard the brown with yellow trace on the Astra plug as I presume this as also a choke light wire?

I'm pretty useless when it comes to car wiring lol so any help would be great :)

You may not need all the wires bud, but from looking around, it seems that it may be the ecu light

Found this also, not sure if any use mind you

Yeah dont get me wrong mate works fine i just like to have everything 100% lol. If i ever need to flash the fault codes i need my ecu light to work. Im now 99% certain ive cracked it. Im going to put the brown yellow from the nova loom (the choke light which is now my ecu light) to the brown blue on the astra loom which should be the ecu light on the digi dash, this leaves me one wire which isnt needed on the astra plugs which is the astra brown yellow.

No pictures as yet as my project thread has dissapeared from png since the site update and im still waiting for it to be sorted. But ive done the what every mk1 enthusiast shouldnt do :( mk2 dash conversion! the dash is currently in the hands of the flocker and when its done it will be going in. The way i see it is the inside doesnt resemble a mk1 at all with a cage, fixed bucket seats, battery, brake lines etc. But im keeping the mk1 dash incase i change my mind ;)

a i understand i kept my mk1 dash and did a but of cutting and shutting and popped it in there not an easy task mine is also goin to be flocked in a light grey similar to the standard colour try keep it close to original look but its hard as almost every thing is modified some how but i think its all a good mix
