1400 8 valve

Hi all just a few question,s to see if anyone can help . i have two engines to play with ,and want to use the 1400 one .engine number is 14nv02m35015 for the 1400 and 12st19563952 for the 1200. 1st question is there anything from the 1200 that is of use on the 1400 [ i am looking for more power on a budget ] secondly i have a weber carb 32/34 dmtl [ i think this is from a 1300 mk2 cavalier ] are there any gains to be made here ,and what inlet manifold should i use . most gratefull for any help . thanks John:)

the 1400 should be giving 80 odd hp. there really isn't much from the 1.2 that would be any good. fitting the 1.2 head would give higher cr, but could cause detonation. as for the carb, you might make it fit with a weber adaptor kit

1200 head then a 1300 inlet with the carb fitted on an adaptor...I have a 1300 inlet if you are interested (you would need to source the adaptor bits) or I also have the complete carb/adaptor/inlet setup.
