Well,

Last week was a real s h i t week for me work wise - Thursday got called into an urgent meeting to tell me (and 459 of my colleagues of the same grade) that my job no longer existed .

I now have until the end of August to find a job within the company, otherwise I'm on 4 months gardening leave and made redundant at the end of the year :(:(:(:(

Great !

I've had a few people say that they would love me in their team , but don't have any spaces yet , but will make space for me when a slot comes up , but they can't guarantee when that will be !

Hey ho !

Joff

PS At least I will have a tip top garden at the end of the year if nothing else lol

Awww Joff i feel for you bud, my brother in-law has just gone through the same thing with the local council, he managed to go back into the job he had when he first joined the council at the age of about 17, not exactly where he wanted to be but he kept a well paid job.

Hopefully you will have the same luck as he did, ill keep my fingers crossed for you though:thumb:

I have to apply for the grade down if I wish to keep doing a similar job (financial advice) and go back to doing what I was doing 13 years ago! At least my salary level is guaranteed .

A job's a job as they say !

If the pay level is guaranteed then thats not too bad a blow, and i definately know what you mean about 'a jobs a job' i was working in the parts department at my place, and when the recession hit it was a case of, go back into valeting or go on the dole:cry:

Applied for my own job last year when our team went from 7 to 5 - one day deal, 2 guys out. Everyone in the same office, slightly difficult atmosphere at the time when that went down.

Other one is brewing up for a month or two's time.
