Hi,
Has anyone over here put a 1.7td in a nova.
I've done it with an F16 gearbox and so I had to shorten the drive shafts and I'm still having problems with getting the drive shafts sorted. The problem is that when I steer to the left I get a noise from the shaft. It could be the shaft is too short.

Any advise ?

I am thinking about replacing the gear box with an F13 because I was told the drive shafts wouldn't have to be shortened.

regards,
Kenneth

i have a 1.7 tdi nova and the mods you have to do to the back of the engine to fit the f13 box are big mods
you have to cut a section of the engine away so the box will fit properly, i'd stick with the f16 - for a start its stronger and you have a bigger clutch (less chance of slip) and its geared higher. with the f13 i am topping out at 110mph (it will go more but its over revving)

have you got an intercooler on your td?
