What is the best/cheapest way to get insured on a Nova GSI at 18?

what with me working for an insurance company I highly recommend you pay up and go it alone - that way you will accrue the ever famous no claims discount and your initial quotes will drop rapidly!

Thats saying you dont trash the car or have a prang (hopefully you aint a knobby ned boy racer so wont trash a lush GSi)

going on yer mums insurance (where yer mum pretends to be the owner - sets you up as a named driver and you drive the car more than she does) is called fronting - or the legal term is "insurable interest" and is bloody obvious to us in the insurance industry - and can invalidate the policy

e.g. mother calls - yes Id like to insure a nova gsi please for me (mums prob about 50 - no offence if younger :oops: ) and my 18 year old just passed his test son. MMM says insurance company - are you the main driver - OH yes says the mum - MMM says insuurance company ok but if your sons driving it more than you, you know that it will void the insurance...etc etc etc

Bite the bullet and pay the wonga - prob looking anywhere between ?800 to ?1500 fully comp if you shop about. Dont think you'll have much luck with main ones like Liverpool Victoria or Flux - think theyve bomped ages up to 21. could try them though...

Best of luck - oh and three is a post with about 100 insurance companies somewhere on the articles I think - start from the top and work down...

i reckon you'll be looking at more than that, thats if you can find someone who'll do it in the first place. i pay a thousand at twenty with two years no claims. good luck

when i passed got a gte and tried gettin insured on my own

best quote was ?2k

got insured on old mans in end...he didnt want me 2 tho coz he got 9yrs no claims

was ?750 with 9yrs no claims

My girlfriend just passed her test and it was about ?600 off Liverpool victoria.
