Pretty but seems slower than the old PNG.
We still have a lot to sort, we know the set pages wont show up such as the home page for a start, and we have buttons and banners to add but we hope to knaw most of it off tomorrow. We just wanted to make sure you had a board back :)

Yeah it's back. Just hope the subscribed threads page updates properly. The one on MIG never updates even when there are new posts in it.
Let us know if it doesn't and we'll look into it, but give us a chance to get the rest of the stuff back up and running first.

If you were accessing from a old bookmark you'll need to create a new one.

looks like the forum layout is the same as the mk2 astra one aswell aswell as audisport so it's all good, it's much better with the way pootube vids work now aswell.

If it wasnt for Novaload this forum most likely wouldnt been here, as PNG died along times when it become PVG, but Lee & Kev brought it back to life using Novaload as the base

being colourblind I'm find it a little hard with distinguishing between stickys and normal threads and also threads with new posts etc.
Tbh I think I prefer the look of the old forum but I said that when nl went to png and I got used to it lol

Another thing i just noticed that when i logged in on my computer it came up saying i dont have permission to access a page, although i did not click on any page?

Quite a change from the old version, be sound once you get used to it though.
Personally the layout/version change is half of the reason why i stopped using MIG as much.
Worthwhile though if its solved a few issues :)

I've noticed on quite a few posts, the last word on a line is duplicated on the begining of the next line. It doesn't do it all the time though, and its not a typing error, as if you click edit, its not there :tard:
Its not that the forum looks crap by any means,
people seem to moan at any sort of change whether its good or bad, give the new layout a few weeks and let the admin team sort it out, if you still dont like it then simply **** off... No one forces you to use this forum...

Completely off topic, but where they pulled him on Traffic Wars was 15 miles from me and that Nova is driven by some old (stoner) dude in a local village. The guy looks like he's 60+ and the car is bright orange, kitted out and falling to bits.

Regards the look/feel, we're concentrating on getting the thing working smoothly and reliably first. Then we'll look at tweaks, mods, design etc.

Nice job. I wondered what had happend when I tried logging on the other day and it said it was down!

I appreciate the need to update the forum - and I'm sure I will get use to it as time goes on - and one of the reasons I don't like Mig as much :- is I dont find it as quick and easy to navigate around the site - too much scrolling up and down the page to access the headers or sub forums
I know its a minor issue, and the quick navigation is slightly better than Migwebs - but it's the only thing that puts me off
But you wont get rid of me that easily - I will just be slower than I normally am ;)

Just as easy to navigate and less complex than Mig, probably because there's less sub forums.
The speed of the site is just as quick on my iPhone 3GS as before btw.

It's ok. I will need some time to get used to the new place. IMO it needs a bit more colour. Way too 'silver' for my liking. A splash of colour (not alot) would make it look better, however I am just a programmer and the scribblers (Design dept) at work are also turning out these silver coloured interfaces at the moment. I think people are copying the Macintoss colour scheme (look at iTunes).
However the scribblers have put some other colours in the mix and it does make the interface look better.

I didn't realize this wasn't the FINAL look. As you were then.
On a side note and on the whole it does feel like a more modern forum. Good work lads and I look forward to seeing the next set of improvements.
i get that when i access via pngclub.com - i just assumedthe frontpage was a WIP
it also says im not logged in (saved details box ticked) but when i click on the forums icon it takes me to the boards and im logged in

Only puts an ad if you don't turn it off in the settings...
Plus it's 90000x better for using forums, don't knock it till you've used said app properly :)
Also, it's not an iOS only app... most smartphones have it.

That's why I like the App, removes the need to crack the magnifying glass out to view the forum :)

The vBulletin app is being considered and will look at Tapatalk as part of that process. Need to consider costs and the audience it will cover etc

It's suprising how good the iPhone 4 or similar screens are and what you can do with them. PNG/vBulletin looks/works great on an iPhone 4!

As you can tell, the little links etc are a nuisance without zooming in, which is why I like the App over standard browser :)

i still don't get the enjoyment in mobile phone internetting...... but i have a company nokia with a full keyboard... anything vaguely touchscreen round here gets broken really fast... our only go at an i phone ended after a week cos it was crap & the sim circuit failed, then they wanted us to pay them £300 by visa card before they would take it for warranty repair, so they got told.

Also noticing that plenty of junk Spam is still getting posted in most sections, nice to see the update worked then lol
A lot of the spam being posted is from old accounts who joined pre upgrade and sat dormant for months on end.
We're still getting some spambots past the captcha though, but we'll implement a solution in due course.
i hate tapatalk, should use vBulletin Mobile suite or just not bother, as it the shows fine on smart phones

Not complaining or anthing but my "subscribed threads" does not update and also on mine and everyones I look at "threads started" on their profiles, nothing appears or only threads from like 5 years ago appear. Has the new update removed these or something. :confused:

The old forum had a little extra code from Kev that would prevent a post from appearing if it had a URL in there and the poster had less than 15 posts.... this isnt a feature in this SW. Plus from what Lee says the control panel for the new VB is somewhat confusing (well maybe for Bottle Top Bill lol) so some extras will take a little time to implement, so please be patient.... or would you rather have the old software back that had gone spazzy and put double/triple posts everywhere ;)
Given the place was inundated with them in 18 hrs I'm not looking forward to how its gonna look on monday morning :s
is there no members list now? i liked to see when i was in the rep list lol

I think they're slowly updating, as when I last searched for something it had threads from 06 or something, but cut off beginning of 07 or so. So it seems to be catching up slowly, by 2012 we should be able to search threads in real time :d

Just to let Admin know... I don't always get my subscribed threads show up when there are new posts. Example: Replied to a few threads. Turned the Mac off and come back an hour later. Log on and 'there are no new posts' but when I open up all my subscribed threads a few of them have had replies. It can't be cache as the Mac deletes net cache when I log off.

Happens on both Mac and Windows and also on MIG.
Never had an issue with this on PNG before the upgrade, but simultaneously would have the same issue on MIG.
Both machines work fine. Are there any settings for this through the control panel (on here)?
Don't know if it's been said already but when I search for the threads I've started ones that I started before the update don't show up :confused:
Tek, I know some people were having issues with the new posts thing pre-transfer. I can't think what to suggest to fix it though....
Edd, thats a problem we've got with the database at the mo (the same thing happened when we upgraded the forum years back). Kev ran a script to rebuild the search database so it would show people's posts and threads pre-upgrade, but it got a bit large and crashed - took about 10 hours to get that far, so that shows how big it was! We're working on a fix though.

Is it worth putting in some sticky thread placeholders in separate locked forums while you figure it out Lee? I.E Discounts (forum) > Discounts (thread) all locked so it works much the same as before but doesn't look as pretty until you figure out the VB4 static pages.

I have discovered an issue! Mike had trouble PMing me, and I've also not had a couple of PM replies/PM's I was expecting. Cleared out my sent messages to bring total down from 86 (still under the 100 allowed) to 13 or so, and Mike could then get one through?
