New insurance scam?

Just rang up to cancel the insurance i took out monday, got to cancellation fees etc which i was expecting, but was the told i cannot cancel the insurance as the car is still in my posession!?

So now have to ring back tomorrow to tell them its sold :roll:

Its through adrian flux. I know theres a new law about no insurance on a car thats taxed, but thats not up to my insurance to tell me i cant cancel.

Not going with them again i know that much.

I really am fed up of the crap they keep coming out with, make it so complicated/akward to do anything! Whats wrong with a car sitting on my drive with tax but no insurance? Nothing!

I'm thinking it Friday afternoon and the person you spoke to couldn't be bothered so he/she fobbed you off so someone else could deal with it tomorrow.

I'd hazard a guess you'll phone up tomorrow and you will be told you cannot cancel over the phone, you'll have to put your request in writing.

just read the goverment speal on it, what a load of pish!!! Seems theres no way out other than sorn it, or keep it taxed and insure.

Tell flux you have declared it sorn at the post office, and it must not be in the system yet

so...thats 1100...is this per year lol? because i think that works out (or will work out) cheaper than insuring a heavily moddified XE

pisses me off because it will be tax it, insure it, drive it for the weekend i want it for, cancel insurance, sorn it......repeat.

or can i see a new insurance coming up which is basically "laid up" insurance. yea its taxed but i dont want to drive it every weekend, i pay say 20quid/month, then ring up, pay a premium for a week/month, whatnot, to allow it to be driven, then it goes back to being laid up?
