"Brand Image".
I assume you were equally wound up that the Mk2 Nova, Mk3 Cavalier and Mk3 Astra all looked vaguely the same then?

Mk1 nova mk1 astra and mk2 cav all had similar lights bumpers and grills it's a brand thing it's always happened
all BMW's of the same era look identical, same with mercs, audi's etc. its always been the case, so why is it a problem? lol

its just modern lights, going up into the bonnet/wings,
looks nasty
Im thinking baxter might be thinking more along the lines that every car seems to look the same these days, regardless of brand, example..
New calibra thing..

No it was only a 8v, but the conversion was quite well done tbh!

So completely unlike the eighties with a nova, mk1 fiesta, talbot sunbeam, mk1/2 Golf, etc etc..
Makes me laugh when people say "all modern cars look the same" as people have been saying it for the past 80 years I imagine. Who can't identify a car's decade from it's shape/styling?
/\ this
but even if cars are all styled the same, i know i never mistake them, is it really that hard?
no he found out that someone had actually delivered a skip.
lol lol lol lol lol i cannot rep this

Bollox, apart from them having angular lines they look nothing like, the ones i exampled all look the same barring the light clusters:roll:

The ones you exampled all have smooth curved lines to them and actually don't look that similar if you spend a bit of time looking at the time, smooth curved lines and angular lights is the latest styling features, angular lines and similar sharp windows with quarter lights, square'd front end features were those of the 80's. 80's cars look similar, 90's cars look similar, 00-10 20 30 and 2040's cars will look similar!
It's just the fact we can tell the subtle differences between cars of an era we're more interested in. How many people on here could identify what car a 60 plate bumper belonged to, compared to the number that could match 10 bumpers from the 80's to cars in under a minute lol I sent a message to a guy on ebay the other day to revise his listing, as not only did I recognise the wing mirrors he was selling weren't Nova ones, I could also tell him which model and rough spec car they actually were off. I couldn't even tell you what manufacturer a modern wing mirror belonged to, despite the differences probably being more pronounced than that of a nova and mk2 astra!
Have to agree the mk1 fiesta, sunbeam, nova etc are all very simarly styled, maybe as your a nova enthusiast spud you will spot it a mile away but to an untrained eye they have massive similarities.
/\ and i would have the sunbeam if i could afford one :( haha
