lets be honest, all car forums are full of minted cars, and in png's instance a lot of quite rare minted cars, but every forum has their best one...?

nominate the one you thinks the best (include pic) and it cant be your own

Nova's aren't as rare as people think, there is loads of them still about and not on here, but as for the best, mine...

...When I finish it, easily.

Seriously though, there are some awesome Nova's on here varying in style, like Aamir's is a nice car, Benn's is smooooooooth and sekseh, Brett's euro beast.

Too many choices lol

Everyone will have a different opinion on this. It depends whether you are into MK1's (like me) or MK2's (like people who are wrong :p ), then there are some who like Sports or saloons or GSi's or SR's (like me again!).

Would be having to sell the engine and gearbox before I started selling any other parts off it otherwise you always get stuck with the bigger parts.

Why dont you use it more for a while ? You might think differently about ripping it to bits then :)

I've spent too much on it now so that's its got to the point where I don't want to drive it in case something happens to it. Worse thing I ever did was getting it resprayed/mint as that's when I stopped using it. Sounds pretty sad really when I think about it.

Also got the Type R now that does pretty much everything the Nova does better and I'm not as anal about it as they are ten a penny and easily replaced. It actually reminds me of what I used to love about the Nova when I bought it 10 years ago!

Yeah I know what your saying, I know I'll feel the same when my Sport is finished, but a car is there to be driven IMO however roads are reasonably quiet down here

Bet you'd regret it at some point in the future if you did break it tho lol been there and done it lol not a good feeling tbh

Lad your reasoning sounds crazy, you don't want to drive it but are willing to strip it :wtf: Don't make sense, i have a car the same as yours eg its been in gargae for 2 years. And when i drive it i drive it lke a girl lol. And i'm thinking of selling it because i've gone same way you have, but strip it, hell no, rather rally it.

Jack
23-06-11, 11:30 AM
Lee's reasoning makes perfect sense. He's spent a lot of time and effort to make a stunning car, and sods law would state as soon as he takes it out on the road some muppet will drive into it, or a tea leaf will try to nick it, or water/salt on the roads will start to rot it... yes its all part and parcel of driving/owning a car, but when you've expended that much effort and to see it slowly degrade... And I certainly wouldn't sell it as a whole, not only would you be majorly out of pocket, but to see someone else driving round in what took you all that time/effort to build. Ouch.

Anyways, can't say one individual car as there's a number of cars which each have particular features or aspects I like.

I do like Charlie's 4WD Sport though purely for the fact he had the balls to do that to a Sport of all things lol

And Floydy's looked so good

If he sold it dowt he'd see it again, and if he sold it to someone as anal as him, it would be stored most of the time and most likey bought out for the summer. And if someone did drive into him why is that a problem, insurance pay out, plus then it gets stripped for parts. If hes planning of stripping it anyway what the prob.

Jack
23-06-11, 11:45 AM
Its likely a new owner would be on. or come on, here though so he'd probably see it on the forum even if it wasn't someone local.

As for insurance payouts, that would no way cover the value invested in the car; and whats to say it doesn't get totally mashed with very little salvageable parts?

Well if you insurance all the mods you will, i smashed my corsa up years ago spent tones on it, got back threw insurance. I don't think i could bulid a minted car then strip it.

lee,i'd say why not just use it everyday as you would any other car? end of the day yeah you've spent a lot of money on it but your not getting the good out of it either, get it out the garage and abuse/use it all year maybe apart from winter, end of the day its only a nova and whats the worst that can happen, shell will need a rebuild in five years or so but funk it at least you can look back in say you had fun, theres a guy local to me and hes had all sorts,cossies/evos/lotus etc and he uses them as they should be, doesnt give a hoot and once there tired gives them a quick rebuild/makeover then sells on and starts again, its gotta be the way forward imo:thumb:

Couldn't use it everyday as I commute over 250 miles a week and can't imagine anything worse than doing that in a stripped out, bucket seated Nova without any aircon. Can't imagine what my suit would look like when I got to work lol

Jack has hit the nail on the head with the car being worth more in bits and I feel with this one I have enjoyed building it more than I enjoy driving it. I have just had a bit of bodywork done on my MR2 turbo and I stopped at a full respray as I am worried that would take the enjoyment out of that car too. Unfortunately there are too many inconsiderate people now who don't give a toss about opening their doors onto a car in a carpark, my daily is riddled with dents from spending it's life in a public carpark.
