with the real world on prices
novas are going for £2k+
now theres a gsi astra turned up with no mot or tax for £700, no mot, its worth scrap value to me
is theres something wrong, or am i being cheap ?
edit another example, that 5 door 1.2 i offered him £300 which i would say is a good offer for a scabby old 5 door, but hes after £750, jeeezzz
im looking at combo vans at the moment, £900 for one with 1 months mot, doors are about to fall off with rust/rot, what are people thinking
blame scrappage nick, all the decent cheap stuff with mot's got weighed in last year. at work, we got rid of a pretty good diesel van cos it was worth £2.5k against a new car..
What price a nova is listed at is NOT the price it sells for, stop looking on pistonheads ffs lol
You can still get decent ones for under a grand IMO
Baxter does that 1.2 have t+t ? Any cars worth £500+ with decent t+t IMO

does it matter its a 5 door he should give me money to take it away lol
The price of Nova's are getting ridiculous, the price of old-ish cars in general is getting stupid.
Anyone want to buy my project, £12,000?

I'd also blame the banger racers/grassers if ebay is anything to go by. Usually half the Nova's on there are been 'converted' so they are no longer road legal.

I agree
Fooking banger/grassers/stock rods etc really fook me off
Only adds to the price increase tbh
Baxter, you want another nova, prices have gone up, either stump up the cash or don't buy one :)

iv been looking at corsa, but thats just a stupid lol
How much you got to spend ?
knowing baxter, he probably wants to swap mcdonalds monopoly stickers for it
what about this nick?? 130530664441 ..... a cav sri
So he wants a minter nova for next to nothing ? :tard:
Those times have long gone by many years :(
well, he had several, including the nice 5door that he chopped up into little bits, so karma is getting its own back on him.

There is a plus side to rising prices, less are getting scrapped these days as they are worth more as cars than scrap (unless you strip it to a bare shell and try to sell). Also if Nova's wern't so in demand it wouldn't be so easy to get parts for them - both standard and performance stuff.

Yeah wtf is up with that ?
He buys one, spends cash making it look good, then breaks it for parts when finished and cuts it up
Then does the same again or simular lol

I wish they were in demand!! I could sell my old Mk1 project then!!!
Get your self a mint Corsa B for peanuts compared to Nova prices. And parts are a lot cheaper for them too as there not in demand.
Oh and some of the fastest UK FWD GM's are Corsa's lol lol

lol so with the current price of insurance for a nova with a half decent engine, you'll only have £250 to spend on the car!

Baxter, you're being a bit daft expecting something for nothing ;)
i just bought a metro, novas are too expensive. 400 quid, better specced than a nova to, got remote central locking and a 1600 16v rover engine will bolt straiht in lol
Fooking banger/grassers/stock rods etc really fook me off
a lovely racer gave me 140quid for my 1.3 engine and box...less than it was up for. originally 200 but he blew up his mates one so i felt kind.

At least your not after a Mk1 or Mk2 Escort for under a grand....
Isn't scene tax just great!
I remember I swapped a pair of cobra monaco's I bought from Stoo, for a merit on 14k, totally original, 2 owners. I drove it for about a month, then the tax ran out, so it was off to the crusher! Wish I kept it now!

Yeah there is an art in waiting for someone to stump up the cash... maybe its you? Surely Colin would have took that off your hands for that price? lol
Cheap 1.2 Flair here, if you can trailer it away. needs an exhaust & battery (& MOT etc)

Yeah but that is your typical joker that thinks any Nova is now desirable, IMO its only 3dr hatches worth that kind of figure.
That thing needs a lot of cosmetic work to be worth anything approaching that price, & if you did do that cosmetic work, the car wouldnt be genuine any longer & still not command that price tag.
iv offered people my extreamly clean omega (worth about £1k) and £600 for a std nova, and they just said no,
Probably find thats just because people don't want an omega
All depends on the market I guess, I'd pay more for a 2dr saloon than I would for a 3dr hatchback. But then most others would be the other way round.

at least it has mot and tax, FSH, cambelt history done in december, ect:
edit, even a working traffic master lol, she sounds hot :p
next month its going in for a fresh mot, (it will pass easy) done 4k miles since i owned it, so oil ect:
Its still a heavy, slow, uneconomical barge that no one wants.

maybe if i fit the LS1 i got, i might sell it better lol
but i was hoping that will go into a nova/corsa lmao
edit its not that slow, 0-60 in 10 seconds, just dont look at the mpg lol
well iv just looked on ebay, im not that far off, mine is going for around £750 - £900 with an mot :)
i mean COME ON lol
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vauxhall-nova-saloon-/150621613930?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2311bf6f6a If someones wanting a low mileage saloon, they will pay that......
Whereas i GUARANTEE if you pick up a local paper/autotrader etc, you will see plenty of Omegas in there for much less than a grand.
From what you are implying, any old car is worth no more than say £200 because its old. SO why do people pay hundreds/thousands for Clios, Metros, Reliants etc etc. ?
Edit- Homega on autotrader, 1 owner, 13 dealer stamps, recent cambelt and tensioners, recent tyres. 2.5 v6. MOT till Nov.
£400 lol

small economical cars are going for silly money at the minute because no one can afford big cars
im backwards on the other hand and want to get a bigger car thats more comfortable as a daily lol
i've overpriced the daily on purpose so i dont get dreamers offering me £600 for it. It runs on fresh air so if it sells it sells, if it doesnt it doesnt. what i'd take for it is actually a different matter to what i've advertised it at!!
baxter - i'd be interested in the omega when the nova sells :thumb:
so how much is a standard, T&T 3dr hatch, 50k on the clock, and decent shell/paint worth these days?
to the right person?

As much as the buyer is willing to pay, this had not be a prelude to a 'whats it worth/for sale' thread, they are NOT permitted on here!
I had been looking for a good condition Nova for a while and came across one in the same area as me, payed £300 for it which is a fair price compared to getting a good nick off eBay,
But the prices are getting very silly on eBay, I mean ffs that Sport rear bench went for over £100!!!!
Imo THIS (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1885895#post1885895) is the right kind of money to be paying for a nova:p

If you are looking for parts to complete any rare car restoration(not just Sports), you will pay what ever you have to for it, it is the way of the world unfortunately;)
Clean Nova's are becoming a rare commodity, their prices will continue to rise.
It happens to lots of popular old cars when all the rusty wrecks are scrapped off leaving a few decent cars left.
Seen it happen to Rover P6's and Rover SD1's prices are well on the up......Look at mid eighties Fords:eek:
And we think the price of a crappy nova is bad...

totaly agree the rear bench is one of the rarest bits on a sport restoration, fronts can be nicked from an sr so are easier to get but still rare
i bought the rear bench not saying what max bid was but would of gone higher if we had too, but only because the chance of finding another is very slim
