When i press the brake pedal, it reaches about halfway down with no effort at all, and when you get about halfway of pressing the pedal down, that's when you begin to brake if you see what i mean. But when the 'biting point' so to speak of the braking occurs, the pedal seems quite stiff so you have to use quite abit of pressure on the pedal. The servo is working. any help would be appreciated :)

it has 2 litre brakes by the way, all properly bled. was exactly the same when i had the standard 1.2 brakes on there though

No its your's.

You could try adjusting the travel on the cross brake bar behind the dash.

There is alot of free play, you can feel it in the pedal. a good cm or so

Are your shoes adjusted correctly in your rear drums, if not you will get some free travel, try pulling the hand brake on and then checking the brake pedal, if the pedal is fine with the handbrake on its will be your shoes that are out of adjustment.
