Its about time i started my project thread on here, got my little nova may 2010 and it was a bit of a state.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/Mybeast.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/Mybeast.jpg.html)
After taking it for M.O.T i had a little work to do, both front wipers, o/s cv boot, n/s inner wing to patch and front brakes inbalanced. Not bad going to say it had been sat in the same place for 8 years.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00100.jpg
Ran it around for a bit as it was then decided i wanted some better wheels so took the ones off my corsa.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00109.jpg
Got some bilstein front shocks and springs and sum rear springs to make it sit a bit better. Since then iv just done little bits and bats to it, better stereo and hid xenons. Then i singned up to png and got some inspiration, cue donor car :)
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00220.jpg
Corsa gsi with kent hi lift cams and stainless exhaust. Paid 250 for it runs spot on, when i got there he threw in some gmax springs and shocks plus these :)
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00223.jpg
Thats as far as iv got so far, going to do the basics before i take the engines out as its my daily, going to refurb the fan blades and get a 1.2 tank fitted, not looking forward to the wiring side of it so any advise is very welcome :)

turned the car around pretty well and should make a good little profit from selling parts off corsa, and a free engine for your self.

Good job its a donor car, more rotten than a neglected nova.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00225.jpg
Started to strip interior out as i was bored and wanted to see if it would fit the nova, sadly not without some modification, going to get some paint sorted and paint the wheels this week and get the tyres swapped over for next weekend.

Phil_d

Got all the wiring disconnected from the bulk head this week, just wondering if anyone knows how much i keep, i know i have to keep all of the wiring that goes through the bulk head under the fuse box as it only goes to the ecu, but what about the wiring that comes though under the glove box? Do i have to use the fuse box out of the corsa or my existing internal loom off the nova?
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00229.jpg

Nova Baz
24-06-11, 03:42 PM
you keep the internal loom for the nova, all you need from the corsa is the engine loom with the relays and i cut the the 6 pin connecter off the car loom and used that to mate to the nova loom and also cut the start/charge loom connecter on the corsa car loom to mate to the the nova loom.

Phil_d
25-06-11, 10:30 PM
Cheers for that Nova Baz :) been a bit busy over the last week so havent had time to do my wheels :( But started to strip the corsa today ready to drop the engine tomorrow. First things first drained the coolant and pulled the radiator out, wasnt in the best shape.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00231.jpg
Then disconnected wiring loom from the inside and pulled it through so i could keep it attached whilst i drop the engine.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00230.jpg
Took exhaust off and power steering pump, along with everything like clutch cable and speedo drive. Decided instead of buying a crane am going to take my dads advice and do it like he used to, drop engine with suspension attached and lift body off it. Hopefully get it out in the morning and then get it cleaned up , painted and serviced as soon as i can. This is how it stands at the moment, neighbour keeps comeing out and shaking his head but its all for a good cause :)

As always comments and advice very welcome.

Well as planned got the engine out today, going to try and get it all cleaned up this week and get some parts sorted. Was a bit too hot to be lugging an engine around on your own but needs must :)

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00236.jpg

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00238.jpg
Then started to strip fuel lines and rest of exhaust off as i only took downpipe off to frop engine, never looked underneath properly untill today, nearly new powerflow stainless exhaust system.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00239.jpg
Thats as far as i got today, dont want to start on the nova untill i have got all the parts i need sorted as its my everyday car and dont want to be stuck without a car for very long :)

Spot on, good buy there!

Nova Baz
26-06-11, 10:22 PM
something you want to do is blank the EGR valve as the engine's out and you use the start/charge loom off the corsa and the loom around the throttle bodie need's the plastic casing taken off or you will struggle getting it in.
here's the theard for the baby xe conversion http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129462

Phil_d
28-06-11, 06:28 PM
Cant see an EGR valve on it so thats one thing less to do :) And is the nova loom plugged at some point or does it just run into the engine bay and i need to splice into the whole loom with the 6 pin connector?

AlexW
28-06-11, 06:44 PM
Don't bother splicing it with the connector, just use the standard nova stuff on the corsa alt/starter, No need to **** about with the corsa start/charge loom at all.

Give me a shout if you need help

Phil_d
28-06-11, 06:54 PM
Cheers alex i have had a quick look when i was taking the engine out and if im correct theres 3 wires to the charge loom on both the nova and the corsa? so its just a matter of connecting them?

Phil_d

Anyone have any idea what fan belt i need now i have removed the power steering pump, it there one in particular or am i going to have to measure and do it that way, Cheers Phil.

Phil_d
12-07-11, 06:56 PM
Got the fan belt sorted now, picked up my spi tank last night, big thanks to greame for that:), i was under the impression that i was to put the pump out of the corsa but theres a bit of a size issue,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00252.jpg
Anyone know what pump will directly fit as i have no idea :D

Phil_d
12-07-11, 07:32 PM
Cheers tony just didnt want to buy it and it be wrong and have to buy another thats all. Cheers Phil.

Whats the difference between mine and the astra one as they look exactly the same in the pictures?

jacking the car up on a tiny jack and 2 wooden blocks to pull engine out epic fail but soooo much win love it! +rep!

I know mate did look a bit dangerous when i was doing it but its all i had to hand, my big blue point jack refused to work so i had to use my dinky one :)

And the pump, i was going to try and just swap the pump but didnt look like it wanted to seperate, il have another go when i get home from work as i only had 5 mins to work on is as i was taking the corsa remains to the graveyard last night :D

Phil_d
13-07-11, 09:05 PM
Well got home tonight and decided to go straight into the garage and sort out my fuel tank, i think i was bieng slack last night as i managed to seperate the pump from the carrier on the gsi tank first time, so i swapped it and then checked it pumped by giving it a live and an earth. It worked so im ready to start ripping the engine out of the nova at the weekend :)

Phil_d
19-07-11, 12:03 AM
Made a bit of progress this weekend, got the old lump out and the new one in (: Had a few problems along the way but nothing too major. Started off by taking everything off like the throttle cable, choke cable fuel line and wiring which was about 3 wires :)
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00256.jpg
Then i took suspension arms off and drive shafts and loosened the engine mounts.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00258.jpg
Then placed my engine trolly under and dropped it out.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00261.jpg
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00262.jpg
Then got the new one ready to go in.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00263.jpg
Then got it sat in place :D
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00264.jpg
Made an exhaust to fit, its not perfect but when its running properly i can modify it, its pissed it down all weekend which didnt help. Got the fuel tank in and the fuel lines made up, loosely connected the main wires and tried it, it runs so tomorrow im going to cut a hole in the bulk head and run the wires properly, need to then put the corsa throttle cable in and then go round and check everything make sure hub nuts are tight and stuff. Only thing im a bit unsure of is radiator, pipes off corsa wont fit the nova radiator and im just unsure of what to get, anyone had experience of this?

chrisnovaturbo
19-07-11, 02:12 PM
put a nova gsi rad in it mate £60 new from unipart

calibra-keith
19-07-11, 03:53 PM
i used the corsa rad, only just fits in like but means i can use the pipes, not sure if its same size as one on my mates is smaller like a nova one.

+REP for letting all the oil just run all over the floor!!

Phil_d
19-07-11, 08:56 PM
Yea i took the one off the corsa but it looked like this
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00231.jpg
And the oil was drained into a container, just a lot of staining from where my mini used to be parked and lots of puddles due to the rain. Not realy done much tonight as it was stressing me out, just got the wires to route and solder permanatly the cooling system and a servo pipe to fit, what servo pipe do i use as the nova one wont fit and the corsa one is miles too big?

mk1nova_rich
19-07-11, 09:57 PM
I have a Nova rad you can have for a tenner pal, think its a 1.2 or 1.3 one. I can pop over Saturday morning if you want to have a look at mine for any info :thumb:

Phil_d
26-07-11, 09:29 PM
Well got the radiator in saturday thanks to mk1nova_rich for that, then broke the water pipe that goes from the water pump round to the radiator hose, new one came today so got it fitted bled up and took it out :D
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00265.jpg
When i pulled out of my road put my foot down i was impressed, but then started to run on 3 cylinders :( came back home messed about with the leads and 4 again :) went out again and was impressed with performance but still needs a bit of work, gear linkage isnt perfect and it needs tracking. Need to sort exhaust out properly as its blowing and knockong on the underside of the car. But at least she drives :D

Well havent updated this for a while, when i had got the engine in i had a few days of enjoyment and then the problems came, wouldnt run on 4 cylynders, turned out my alternator bracket had slipped so fanbelt was slipping causing it to not charge fixed that and it decided 4 cylynders were good again (: after that i got it cleaned up and i just enjoyed it.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00306.jpg
Then i hit a pot hole and everything shut down, ignition fuse popped, couldnt fix it at the roadside, tried about 6 fuses at the roadside, popped straight away, so my dad towed me home. When i got home i replaced the fuse and she fired up :S after ths i didnt trust it so took her of the road and bought a cheap sensible daily

306 D-Turbo, bought as it is, lowered(quite a lot)tweeked fuel pump, according to boost gauge running 20psi of boost and a de-cat exhust. Its lower than the nova, comfier, more economical but yet id rather drivethe nova :(
Got a few plans for the nova but no sure exactly what im going to do, its getting stripped, strengthened and painted, engine wise unsure, maybe keep the c16xe and tweek it a little bit but debating 20xe. Wanting to convert it to 5 stud, cav turbo alloys, got some 288mm brakes for it and a gte rear beam with disc conversion, wont have space to strip it or a few months so just looking out for parts and ideas at the moment, so hopefully a few updates soon :)

Phil_d
12-10-11, 08:41 PM
Remember watching your build thread, looks like a good conversion just needs the tank sorting if i remember, bit more tweeked than mine, mines just a standard c16xe. hoping to squeeze a bit more power out of mine tho :)

13-10-11, 06:39 PM
Yeh thats the 1, i was getting messed about tryin to get hold of the right tank and was groing impatient so just ended up getting what i could lol. those inlets make the best bang for buck id say

Phil_d
14-10-11, 06:04 PM
yea i was thinking about one after seeing mk1nova_rich's c16xe but im still unsure on what engine to go with so we shall have to see(:

Well not much of an update but after speaking to my dad my novas got a nice new home for the winter :) Iv got space to strip it, my dads welder is kept under the safe roof and it comes with a large yellow engine crane :P Hopefully we may have some updates soon :D
Sorry for the crappy phone pic.

Well having moved the car into my dads unit i thought id get some work done, turns out traveling 3 miles to the nova on a cold dark night need more entheusiasm than i have at the moment lol but me and my dad have started to make my rollover spit ready for when the engines out. Iv removed all the seats and dashboard is ready to lift out so thats a start i suppose :D

Started off with lots of 40x40 lengths and some 50x50 lengths, took some measurements of the nova and made the initial upright sections,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0002-1.jpg

Then there were two :)

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0004.jpg

Its not going to be done till either next week or the week after as its going to be more than just two a frames with a piece of scaf as the pivot point. We shall have to see if my dads idea comes to light.

And a sneaky pic of my dads epic work bench (which happens to be perfectly level and has a perfect green cloth underneath the work top) :P

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0007.jpg

Hopefully gunna get the engine out sunday so possibly some updates soon.

Phil_d
11-12-11, 10:24 PM
Well as planned engine came out today (: started off like this
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/DSC00306.jpg
Then set about taking drive shafts out and removing throttle cable and loom.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0014.jpg
When i had removed everything attached to the engine i took the weight of the engine with my engine crane ;)
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0009.jpg
Dropped the engine to the floor and took the strap off, then lifted the car over the engine.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0015.jpg
Then pulled the engine out.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0016.jpg
Put the wheels back on and dropped it down.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0018.jpg
While it was up in the air i had a dig about, battery tray is solid,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0019.jpg
Offside front arch has a slight hole,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0020.jpg
Sills are the worst, both have a small hole just below the doors,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0022.jpg
And behind the headlamps isnt the healthiest,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0023.jpg
Hopefully mi dad will have finished the rollover spit this next week so we can get it up in the air and get all the underseal stripped and have a proper dig about see what panels i need to buy and what needs plating, hopefully it wont need too much but we will have to just wait and see (: i know it dosent look like much progress but it feels like iv actually made a start, still undecided what engine to put in when the welding and bodywork is done.
Comments and advise very welcome :)

26-02-12, 10:22 PM
Well not updated this in a while and not that much has happened, just been collecting parts, got a complete front panel to go on, 2 litre brakes with grooved discs, hopefully got an internal shifter in the post as i payed for it weeks ago. And also amongst the parts accumilating, this which i bought by accident, spur of the moment ebay bid cos it was cheap,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0035.jpg
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0036.jpg
undecided weather to sell it on and rebuild the c16xe or rebuild this. Hopefully some progress in the next few weeks.

Phil_d
01-08-12, 10:45 PM
Well i hoped that i would have made a lot more progress than i have :( but progress is progress, well i bought a c20xe to replace the c16xe so i sold the c16xe then i was skint so i had to sell the 20xe, did a lot of thinking and decided small block ftw :) so a new c16xe has arrived
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0002_COVER-4.jpg
also sold my white wheels that i had so im undecided on what to replace them with? they can wait till last as im on a bit of a tight budget at the moment. So plans are to tidy up the engine, get the shell sorted, going to start the front panel and engine bay at the weekend. Got a pair of decent doors to fit, then paint it a nice blue, possibly cosra gsi interior as i have one kicking about and im thinking ,maybe a flocked dash, any comments and advise welcome

This is how she sat when i left her yesterday :(

Well havent updated this for a while, was lacking on the enthusiasm side of things, but over the last few weeks its come back lol last weekend decided to completely strip the front end,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0018-1.jpg
then dug my front panel out
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0013-1.jpg
then this weekend io decided to remove the slightly rotten front panel, only the headlight surrounds had rusted but i decided to do the whole lot anyway, so armed with a drill, hammer and chissel this happened, the inner wings have a little bit of rot but nothing major.
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/IMAG0002_COVER-8.jpg
then offered the new one up,well my dad did :),

With having 2 young kids and working 6 days a week finding time to go to the unit and get anything done was impossible, but with it now being outside in the elements it needs doing sooner rather than later, so a few days off work was in order. :)

Managed to get the GTE flywheel and clutch on .

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0125.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0125.jpg.html)

Then the fun bit .....getting the engine and box in without a hoist.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0128.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0128.jpg.html)

Then got the bilstein front struts on and back on its feet for the first time in a long time, venoms are only temporary to keep it rolling till I find some better wheels,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0133.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0133.jpg.html)

Sorry for the long post and plenty of pictures just so happy with the amount of progress....next step wire it up then IL start cleaning and sealing the chassis legs and getting the new fibre glass wings on. Hopefully plenty more updates soon.

Well got a little bit more done after work, not as much as I'd hoped but I lost light, started with sorting out the bodged wiring,

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0140.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0140.jpg.html)

Started off with wiring diagram I printed off autodata, worked out which wires bad been cut and what wires went where for the fuel pump relay.

Just need to figure out how to connect my fuel lines, when I ripped the original c16xe out I put all the bits in a series of boxes, now I seem to have lost one with the old fuel rail and connections in, if anyone has any spare for sale drop me a pm, cheers

So booked another day off work to get some progress done today....doesn't seem like iv done much but I feel like its getting closer.

Started the day like this, engine bay loom all fixed and ready to be pulled tough the hole in the bulkhead but still with the corsa start/charge loom, so set about swapping the nova start/charge loom over, then fitted my vss and running some wires.

Then set about the inside, fixing what I rushed and bodged when I first did the conversion about 6 years ago,

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMG-20170407-WA0004.jpeg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMG-20170407-WA0004.jpeg.html)

With the engine loom pulled through I ran some proper wiring to the fuel pump and wired it in, again being younger and in a rush last time I ran some piss thin wire to the fuel pump with a toggle switch, so it's all wired in properly now.

I even wired in the eml so I can flash codes if needed.
Inside ended up like this.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0167.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0167.jpg.html)

Engine bay ended up like this.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMG-20170407-WA0009.jpeg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMG-20170407-WA0009.jpeg.html)

Need to lengthen the wiring for the air flow meter and get a filter of some sort.

It's got no fuel in it at all, since the fuel filler neck rotted through, I was going to fit my new one today but a quick glance and I noticed some tin worm behind it :/ so I think IL get that sorted before I get any fuel in it, hopefully some more progress soon and maybe I can get her running before summer is out .

So after finding the rot behind the fuel filler neck I decided to weld her up before sorting the filler neck , so took a few days off work and the lad I work for said I could use the ramp during the day seen like if I wasn't there it wouldn't get used anyway,
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0187.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0187.jpg.html)

Not got many pictures as iv tried to do as much as I could in a short period of time,

Good check over and it wants 3 patches on the sills, the inner arch and below the rear bumper so not too bad.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0190.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0190.jpg.html)

Also iv not got any wheels that I want to use, got a set of venoms that I'm not keen on and a set of cheap tigra wheels which I also don't like, however the girlfriends Clio has some sport 16" wheels.......so had a play.

Bit unsure on the wheels but they are a lot nicer than the other 2 sets I have.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0191.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0191.jpg.html)

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0192.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0192.jpg.html)

Once I got the welding done I got the filler neck swapped over put a couple of litres of fuel in and she runs.

Hopefully lots more progress soon :)

So went into work to do a scotching job and finished earlier than I expected, girlfriend was expecting me hone for 4 and finished at half 1, so decided to stay and do some on the nova,

swapped the servo.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0198.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0198.jpg.html)

Hits the throttle body though :/

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0199.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0199.jpg.html)

Then lengthened the air flow wiring so I could bring the plug to the front rather that the back as it fouled the turret.

Having a golf and being on the vdub forums iv noticed everyone uses the Honda s2000 filter instead of an aftermarket filter, so I decided to follow suit like a sheep.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0201.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0201.jpg.html)

Little large but fits like a glove, then quickly put the headlights on and called it a day.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0205.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0205.jpg.html)

Next job get the rear brakes built back up when I get a new hub nut(managed to loose one), the fit my 256mm fronts , hopefully will be done this year if I can keep the enthusiasm.

What's left to do to get it back on the road?

Realistically not much, need to fit the front brake set up and bleed front and rear, fit my fibre glass wings and GTE bumper, mount the ecu and tidy the wiring, fit a set of clocks and then modify my corsa gsi seats to fit and it's mot time

Got a little bit more done today, went into work early and did an hour before work.

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j438/phildgsxr/Nova/IMAG0207.jpg (http://s1085.photobucket.com/user/phildgsxr/media/Nova/IMAG0207.jpg.html)

Bled the rear brakes, fitted the 256mm fronts and gave it all another quick bleed, then connected the gear linkage.

Then for the first time in just shy of 6 years it's moved under its own steam absolutely over the moon, can't wait to get back at it, next job is fitting some seats.

Can't wait, when I put the first c16xe engine I had in it was on the road less than a month and I ripped it apart, so really looking forward to putting some miles on her, you still got yours?

Well I was hoping updates would come thick and fast, but after not being able to get it running properly I lost the love and left it sat in the corner of works car park. Been looking for a roll cage for s while, managed to find one then got let down at the last minute which pissed me off so I managed to get a rear cage local so bought it and booked 2 days off work and got some motivation back........only to find the cage isn't for a nova as advertised :/ so decided to finish off some bits while I had some spare time, fuel tank out to check the fuel pump as I was having fuel starvation issues, found I had stupidly managed to trap the fuel line between the tank and floor.

Then got my fibre glass wings on, starting to look like a car again. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/447da76bac7182593186ef7e4f803a95.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/601baed47cb7012d1882302d5e056653.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/908f64152b96cdf0f46aceaafa2d9a1d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/b55a2b8b6f2d1b93479c300b7465eb8d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/0c2ffe1d8636f0d4c381feb5ff885ad2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/ce3da2c1252d52eb5249de1a2bb4f066.jpg

Well had a few hours to kill after work so decided to fit my internal gear shift, remember reading in the articles how to, and it saying shorten the rod by 3 inches and make it straight, the bend in mine was about 6, so I chopped the bend out chopped it down by 6 inch then chopped 3 off the original and welded that to the end, not the prettiest but its straight

Got it roughly bolted in to check functionality, works a treat, just need to neaten the hole in the floor, whip it out and plate the floor, I drilled 4 holes through the floor for the mounting points so once plated I can drill them from the underneath. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171108/327b4f793ad55709c1f052c907078aff.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171108/01dfe50d8be70cce94d242accce9dc46.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171108/6448a6bc55a666942855c1ac0b0a6e97.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171108/e9595d09bbbb0b18317785d01a16da70.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171108/a9cb204733d7cb8337b5c1aabf38cdae.jpg

The cage probably started out as a Nova cage. I suspect its had the feet modified is all.

I did think that but the legs seem too far inwards, even with flat feet they probably wouldn't sit on the wheels tubs.

Stayed after work and did an hour or so yesterday, plated the floor and mounted the cav shifter properly, didnt take many pictures seen like its just a boring plate stich welded to the floor. Then mounted the fire extinguisher, even though its mainly cos I think it looks cool lol.

Then took my steering wheen off and centred it, and tracked it up. All little stwps but ita starting to come together slowly. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171112/bd81ba02bc4ad9abc7d09dccdee35d90.jpg

Well not much has happened with the nova recently, sat in the car park at work for a while, then the garage closed down so I was jobless and lost storage of the nova plus facilities to work on it when I wanted :/so I took it back home, maybe a blessing in disguise, I now have the urge to get it done.... Dash is back out, wiring is getting sorted properly, dash is going to get flocked, once dash is in I'm going to start getting the cage fitted properly.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181110/623379f6bc6be67cb811d3b4b67cb80f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181110/c0844b6b460b53733b17ff6e6d7810d9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181110/a672a35fb89251055d5289dc6a39268a.jpg
