Help please!

Hi can anyone help me diagnose a problem i have with my corsa B 1.6 16v sport. The temp gauge rises up to the red once warm then comes down again after about 10 seconds or so, also blows cold air through the heater then blows warm air at times intermitantly too? i there is no signs of any oil in water or water in oil!,also the engine management light comes on when warm!, thought may poss be thermostat? but hey im no mechanic, hence asking any corsa owners or mechanics that may have some knowledge?....please any help would be grately appreciated...:thumb:

Sounds like could be thermostat mate, why not tyre that, or get a code reader on it.

simple answer - does it have enough water in?

These engines are a pain to diagnose cooling problems on, I would replace the thermostat and waterpump and make sure the rad is clear.

Cheers guys really appreciate the comments will look into it. yes there is water in the bottle checked that first lol , not that lucky
