are 1.6 16v and 8 v bottom ends the same and witch is going to be best as im looking to build up a 1.6 8v screemer over the next few months thanks all info welcome on this as going to be looking for piston ect

if your using a 8V head then use a 8V block

well early and late E16 have a different way of tensioning the cam belt and iirc the 16v block is slightly different again, it would be easier to get a E16 and still build a screamer, look at the video i posted in the video section about mark higgins, thats a 1.6 8valve GSI works car 150bhp,

cool so i best get looking for a e 16 as at the min ive got a 16sv cav engine in it as it is do e16 run flat top pistons ?

c16xe bottom end mates to the 16sv engine (Brettski has done it)
He produced a healthy 112bhp with a 1.3 dizzy and webber 32/34

and no my E16 does not have flat tops

So my 16sv should be good once I get rid of the spi and get somthink better lol I've had the head slimed 60 thow. E16se cam in it lightened fly wheel
