The Nova has just been resprayed, and i'm debating what colour pin stripe to put on the bumpers. They were red before which looked good, but its a bit boring. was thinking of the yellow that early SR's had (melon i think) or anything else within reason! (oh and the number plate is going back on the bumper too)

Red is a good period look imo, you'd need a similar bumper stripey type colour, or a colour scheme going on to pull something else off.

red does go with the black well, i'll give you that.

other option is this (and it is melon :thumb:)

Colour is called Ochre as far as Vauxhall are concerned I believe.

Silver might work but not as well as red, other common bumper tape colour is blue. I'd stick with the red personally.

Edit: Actually that's a lie, I'd paint the stripe, and other random things, Mustard Yellow.

not sure on silver, as there is nothing else silver on the car (as i hate silver, it just looks unpainted lol)

ah didnlt know it was ochre, i might try it if i can i can find some.

but i think red is going to be the winner.

mustard? er..... lol

Ochre bumper is at hens teeth levels of rarity as it's the Mk1 SR Genuine stuff. Could get similar made up by a vinyl place though.

I did think yellow as I like yellow bits, but this stands out a bit too much after seeing the one above

Maybe a few other accents to match though - brake calipers perhaps

Back in the day, my friend had a diamond black GSI with the chrome stick on plastic strip, that looked really good. Especially since his GSI had a leather retrim and had that 'top spec' kind of look to it.
Another of my mates had a diamond black GTE that had a green vinyl pinstripe on its bumpers, with matching green 'GTE' stickers/badges.
IMO Both of them options worked well, but I dont think any shade of yellow would work and red is a bit common.

My mate as a mk2 astra gte in black and hes on with yellow bits and bobs but a dont get the vibe reds always a winner for me but if you really dint want maybe a dark sliver/grey would be different

Black and yellow can work IMO but as said you need to pick out other accents with it too; just the stripe on its own looks a bit out of place.

Chrome strip sounds good.

i like the yellow and the red. but if you do yellow then you have to match one or two other things, where as the red you dont have to make it a theme so much!

Yorkie, thay are indeed gray (vauxhall smoke gray :thumb:)

I'm not feeling the silver/chrome/gray look though.
I think it will either be red or yellow. But as I cba to paint anything else yellow, I think I'll stick red on it for now, as its easy, then later on I'll change to the yellow :thumb:
