View Full Version : My New One
With my new family and wanting to calm down work more, I needed a car for when I'm off work and don't have my van (most people know I go everywhere in my van). Basically the story goes an old boy on my estate has had this car for ten years, 4 owners from new, 75000 miles from new with service history to prove it, I asked him did he want to sell it nearly two years ago when I had my red hatch and he took my number and called me the other day, his renewal on his insurance was nearly 2 grand with him now being 95 years old, and he wasn't prepared to pay it so he offered it to me for £500, obviously I had a haggle and got it for 350 quid, its by no means mint but it is very solid and will be good with time, the main problem is the back arches as most saloon owners will tell you they can be a problem. The plans are to tidy it up alot, throw some bits that I have hanging around lol and use it. Here is what it looks like after me owning it for 24 hours
Plans are Blue SRI front seats, Visors, steering wheel and clocks, a top-tinted screen, Unpainted GSI front bumper, lowered 60mm on black Bilsteins, they grey Speedlines pictured and a bit of stereo, electric windows and central locking (Cheers John), toad Ai606 and whatever else that comes up for sale

Undeclared let? lol lol lol lol
Looks good tubs, you got the bits? I have a screen here, and some other bits.
I can live with the 1200 single point for the time being, would love a let in it eventually but need to loose some points first, it going to cost to cost over a grand to insure it with all my points and the wheels declared, gives me chance to source and build a nice engine, this one will be staying for a while.
Two door is still on going, just not as flush as I used to be with work slow and my misses on statutory maternity pay
Looks tidy Graeme! I'll look forward to seeing all the quality whorded parts you've acquired going on one by one! :)
Nick.
Small update, added a few surplus bits and had it detailed at my friends place in Warrington, paint work is exceptionally poor and the back arches will probably fail the next test but it'll do for now, just need to insure it next payday and then crack on with my proper saloon, a couple of pictures

That looks loads better dude!
Thanks for all the good comments and for people sorting me out the parts that I've added to it, John for parting with the e/w + c/l set up that I have never seen for sale ever and I can't (as much as I should) deal with keep fit windows, and Maka for swapping horn centres with me so I could have a blue one and anyone else who has sold me parts
