View Full Version : K Reg SR Track Car Project.
Hello!
I used to be a member of PNG and this forum, but after a six year lay off from Nova's I'm back again with another one! lol
The last time I signed onto this forum it was called Novaload, so it shows how long ago I was last on here :tumble:
I was shocked to find my old Nova GSi was still on the feature section too!

Anyhoo, last night, I purchased a K Reg 1992 Nova SR that needs a fair bit of TLC.
I live near the Anglesey Circuit, and the plan is to make it a Track Car, as well as an Autotest Car. And change it's colour to white.
Here's a few pictures of the car as it stood in the garage this afternoon;

The plan is to get rid of the holes in the boot floor and other places first, get it painted inside and out, then run it on Tarmac Spec Bilsteins all round with Poly bushes big brakes and braided hose the whole braking system.
Engine wise, Keep it standard for now with a Four branch manifold and system With twin 40's.
The wheels in the back are TSW, haven't got a clue what type they are lol
good luck with the buld mate lol
Cheers Dude! lol
Nice project. Looks like the previous owner started prepping for a respray and got bored?
Are you keeping the rub strips on the sides? I'm after a set if your not using them...
Hi mate, I'm not planning on keeping the rub strips.
The plonker that owned it before me covered them with a little bit of over spray when he made an attempt to spray the bottom of the car with primer.
The good news is that it comes off very easily with cellulose thinners.
Make me an offer on them mate!

Cheers matey!
Loving your Sport too!
Well, I started working on the car yesterday by removing the headlamps, bumper, grille and wings to see the full extent of work that was needed.
The battery tray was a nice surprise, as there was no rust there at all!
The front panel however was a disappointment, as some pillock had tried to patch up the lower part of the front panel, it looked as if someone had attacked it with a ball pein hammer....lol it also needs tidying arond the hadlamp areas as well as where the front panel joins the chassis on the drivers side.
So I'm going to replace the whole front panel and both wings, so if someone could point me in the direction of reasonably priced ones, that would be fantastic!
Some pictures of the progress so far;

Wow that front panel looks a bit sorry for itself, like its been driven in a warzone

It does doesn't it...... lol
Just finished another round with the car.
On the exterior I've taken off the radiator, removed all of the front wiring loom exhaust manifold, header tank, washer bottle and bonnet.
Interior has been stripped of it's carpets, roll cage and the horrible seat that was welded into place.
I also cleaned one of the set of 15" wheels I got with the car, it's a TSW but not sure what model it is, but I like them and I reckon they will look great once refurbished and the body shell has been completely resprayed white.

Well, had some **** news in work on Wednesday, as of the end of august, I'll be unemployed. :(
Anyone want to buy a roll cage and set of 15" TSW wheels to fit a Nova? :cry:
