Snapped cambelt on 1.4 5door

Hi, dont come on here often as i havent got my licence yet :( But, i have the possibilty of another nova. its a 5door 1.4 but the boys snapped the cambelt on it. Im guessing it will just be bent valves, but is there anything i should watch out for? are them engines worth repairing (Bearing in mind i only have a 1.2 in my 3door) are they hard to fix/change belt? Any feedback appreciated. thanks :)

there is actually a good chance that the valves will have survived. put a new belt on & try it before ripping it apart.
