Thought I had a cav haynes, apparently not lol

Anyone know off hand what the oil capacity for a 1700TD isuzu engine is?

Arr, does it not cover the isuzu diesel? I did think that, so went to check... thats when I realised the "own a cav Haynes" must have been a dream lol

yep, defo 4.5lts as iv got this engine in my astra van and just done a oil change. norm 10w 40 too :)

my comma book stated 5-40 fully synthetic thats what i used to put in but its not cheap, i used to change it at every 10k as the oil was free to me :-)

As Baxter said, the izuzu engine has a haynes manual just to itself,Lol.

haynes says;

engine oil capacity: 5.00 litre(8.8 pint) approx

coolant system drain and refill 7.7 litre (13.6 pint) approx

cavalier/ascona engine's with increased sump capacity are indentified by having a "green" dipstick.(doesnt cover this unfortunatly)

hope this helps(out of my manual ;)
