No idea what I'm going to do with this, but the shell looked rather interesting, and it came with a collection of useful spares, so I bought it.

A few photos in case they are of interest to those people building some of the wilder Novas on here;

Usual story, it was badly described and badly photographed when it was on EBAY. There's been a huge amount of work put into the fabrication, and it's been done to a pretty good standard.

It doesn't actually need a huge amount of work to finish off, but whether I will ever get round to it is doubtful.

It came with brand new Leda coilover suspension all custom made for it, 20 or so alloy wheels, a Quaife SCCR/LSD gearbox, wide arch kit, a couple of engines and assorted other crap.

Sounds alright Colin. I'm sure you got it for the right price

Does anyone have the link for when it was on eBay ?

Sadly I didn't buy the whole lot for £500.........if you read the EBAY advert that was just his starting price for the shell alone.

Hi Colin, will you be using the diffuser or not? Email me ;)

The diffuser was one I bought on EBAY last week.

However, it is currently the subject of a dispute with the seller, he advertised it as carbon fibre, and it isn't.

It was intended to go on my Nova hillclimb car, but I really only wanted proper carbon fibre for that.

So it all depends what happens with my dispute over mis-description, PayPal are going to be involved shortly. It may have to be returned.

i thought it looked very out of place on that lol. imo your better off just lobbing some paint on it and sell it on.

How heavy was the 309 when you got it?

How many cars, mmm, definitely too many. I am about to start on a concerted effort to get some cleared out.

As of today;

1 x Landrover Discovery
1 x Vectra Estate
1 x Almera GTi
1 x Almera 1.4 (don't ask)
1 x Mercedes Vito
1 x Talbot Samba
1 x Astra GSi
1 x Corsa rally car
2 x Fiesta XR2i race cars
2 x Cavaliers (one is a race car)
5 x Nova race and rally cars
4 x Assorted Novas

It's a habit out of control.

That's some list ! Lol

Mine only goes as far as 4 vehicles

Mk4 Astra
Austin healey sprite
Mk2 rs2000 ( although only mine till I'm paid )
Peugeot 309

Not quite as impressive as your list

The 309 is rumoured to be 770kgs, I'll believe that once it's been weighed when it's back together, that seems extremely light to me but there isn't much more to the shell than the spaceframe and a steel roof and floor, the rest is just axle engine and gearbox, the wheels are extremely light.

I guess we'll just have to see but I'm quite confident whatever it ends up weighing it will still go well enough.

Impressively light if it's correct, I will await the results with interest!

That's what I thought !

Bernards old car apparently weighed around the same, but that's a millington so considerably lighter than my boat anchor so I do have my doubts about the weight.

I'm not.

It's going to be put up for sale shortly, along with an awful lot of other stuff, to try and fund a new engine for my Nova (see my other 'Project' thread).
