An Ice dealer in Reading has one in a stand - he was amazed by the sound quality, compared to a top of line Pioneer or Kenwood. The fact that it doesnt hve a built in Amp contributes to the sound quality, as there is less electrical "noise"- inside the headunit. The Bass Engine Pro eq gives you amazing control - and if you set up the time correction right, the sound staging is unbelievable!

The new CDA 9813R gives you more or less the same control for less money however.

Alpines = superb, i will stick to them on my next one, had a kenwood one befoore my current alpine, and it wasnt in same class, yet was same price.

you can never go wrong with an alpine. if you want looks and graphics go for something else, but for sound and clarity alpine is the one. you cant beat alpine when it comes to car systems.
