first of all how easy of a job is it to change valve guides?

and secondly, where to get them from? the usual google search comes up with 2.0ltr etc but not small block engines

Got mine changed by my local machine shop (along with new larger valves, seats cut, etc)

You really want a press ansd suitable drifts/tools to remove/insert guides, would leave it to professionals myself

when i last had some guided fitted to a head the engine builder charged me a couple of quid to fit them, but a job i would let a pro do.

definitely a pro job, you could do more damage than good yourself

yeh, thanks for that :) rep for all :thumb:

where would i get them from? would like to just take bare head and guides and hand it over.

seems i have to 'spread a bit of rep around' before i can come back to you swedge :)

ring your local engine re-con place. they will probably have some in stock anyway.

If you are using an engine builder he should be able to source sone for you...otherwise try Mowgli's catalogue thread - I'm sure he posted a link for smallblock OHC parts
