Some pictures of my new MK1 SR. I have few bits and pieces to do to it. Nothing major as you can see. Just alot of cleaning and general tidy up. I am very pleased with the bodywork on the car. I havn't come across any rust on the car at all. Here is to do list below, hope to have the car finished for a local show in September. :thumb:

- MXL's to go on
- New radio (seller forgot to mention the radio was fecked)
- Genuine Vauxhall mudflaps
- Nova Sport rear silencer
- New number plates
- Few clips for the interior, inside plastic panel for the tailgate and a parcel shelf strap.
- Would also like to get the interior steam cleaned.
- Rear seat base (larger piece) Rainbow type.

Maybe if you seen it the way I bought it, you might not have bought it. I was told the car was MOT'd until Nov 2011 and guess what ......??? No MOT certificate with the car. A quick phonecall to the seller and he told me he would get a duplicate. When I checked the VOSA website the cars MOT had expired in April 2011. So I guess I will be waiting a while for the duplicate. As you can see from my wanted add I need quite a few a bits and pieces to put the car right. Just a pity this wasnt mentioned in either the add or the phone call we had with the owner.

Thanks Jay, car came from Market drayton. Was quoted £200 but ended up at £270 as the lorry driver missed the boat home as he was parked up waiting all afternoon on the seller to answer his phone to arrange a pick up. Why do people say they will have their phone on all day! lol

£270 not bad for shipping though. What makes you want a nova? Noticed loads of teenages buying them lately.
The going rate from the Midlands would be around the £300 mark but a friend got me a quote for £200. I suppose £270 wasn't a bad price. There has been quite a few Nova's and Corsa's in the family and have good cult following here in Ireland.

Cheers Ryan, the tyres that are on the car are brand new but I just think the 185's are too chunky for the 5 inch SR Alloys. :)

Looks good danny although i would prefer the standard backbox if i was keeping it standard but i understan these things can be easily changed.

Out of intrest, did mk1 sr's come with an without sunroofs?

Do you hope to have the car on the road this summer anywhere? Maybe next year you could have it at billing, hope to have mine there

Thanks, I know what your saying about the backbox but it and the windeflectors are the only mods I am planning on doing. But as you say they are easy changed . :thumb:
I hope to have the car on the road soon and will probably get a bit of use out of it over the summer. Dont know about billing though, will decide nearer the time. lol

Rear mudflaps look awkward though, they'll never sit straight with a mk1 bumper.

Thanks Craig. As said before the rear silencer is the only mod modification that I had planned for the car. The rear mudflaps do look awkward but I am on the look out for a set of square griffin mudflaps as they seem to sit better on the rear. :thumb:

Your car is great, it is better even than mine (hurts to admit!). Someone else has probably already said this...but I am sure it is Carmine Red, Flame red was for the mk2s.
Love the battery and plate details too. Looking forward to even more pics!

Hi all

Just to clear a few things up with regards to how I do my plates.

I use the 3 stage system

Clear perspex
Clear film (This is what i print the reg & logo's on)
Nikkalite reflective sheeting

This is the old way of doing them as most companies now use the 2 stage system which is print onto clear film then stuck onto black backed plastic. I hate this system :wtf:
Plates look cheap IMO

Danny, your not going to get much cleaner than that tbh, what you thinking of selling up to but next ?

dannymcc
28-07-11, 11:28 PM
If I don't get what I want for it it will be stored away, as said it will only go up in value. I enjoyed sourcing all the little bits for the car and fitting them and doing other bits with it as it's something to give me some interest in. I'm not that bothered if it goes or not as I would still like to improve a few little bits on the car. But it is still 3 years until I am able to drive on the road. I have bought and sold a few other cars and this is what I have bought and spent the profit on from my last one. I wouldn't mind another little Nova project similiar to this to keep me at something in my spare time. :)
