Hi all im having a problem with the horn on my nova. it wont work when i press the steering wheel button but if i disconnect the round metal plug that goes into the steering wheel and touch something metal the horn works. I think it must be something to do with the steering wheel contact but not sure what. Any ideas would be good as i need to get the car ready for its MOT.
do you have the metal ring inside the wheel?

Hi swedge yeah the ring is indide the wheel.
check the brass pin that runs along the ring to see if its worn. It should have a slightly convex end. most people wipe the grease off the ring if they remove the wheel, so then the pin wears away quite quickly as its only soft. mine is fooked too, and only works at certain angles lol
Yeah sounds like the pin that (supposedly) touches the horn ring. Make sure its in full contact in order for the 12v to get to the button
the switch on the centre push is not exactly strong. & quite easy to dismantle. its probably a bit bent inside

Put a button on the dash. Mark it with a horn. Job done!
