no mate failed, brakes all seized, running well rich. might take the carbs off and put injection back on to get it through the mot. also have a standard rear beam with drums and find some cheap discs
Ahh tis revealed :)
Shame about the MOT, rear discs are pointless anyway
Fire some pics up when you can

Nice car mate, don't pull bits off, just strip and clean the brakes, you can get the discs re-faced
Yea mate take those carbs off and sell them, think the old owner said he been offered 300 for them, get some cash back :d

might be pulling some of the bits off, me mates can't get in the back so might dump the cage and put some seats in the back, i could do with the money to cover the insurance

As Jeff said i wouldn't pull to much off as it is a minted car, if you look after it will only go up in price, so good investment.
I'd leave the roll cage, but saying that i'd have it as a second car, if its your main motor can understand you wanting some rear seats, although i would just tell my mates to walk lol

Superb buy.
+1. Hope to see a thread with any updates you do.
Yea think you need to open projects thread when you start.
Nice buy, it probably got tested as a k-reg nova for emissions, hence why it came out running rich....
Bear in mind Nick might have removed the rear seat mounts out the shell, so it might take a bit of work getting rear seats in. Cant remember off the top of my head.

I noticed that the for sale thread stated that the carbs need re-balancing, is that expensive, anyone have any experience?
I think are right about seat mounts, all gone
Easy job for somebody good with carb's. Its just playing with screws basically

Won't cost alot and the sound alone is worth keeping and £300 for a full carb setup is cheap I sold mine for £550 remember new the carbs are over £300 each then there is the inlet manifold pump regulator linkage dizzy setup etc your looking at about £1100 to £1200 to buy all the parts new
carbs might sound better, but fuel injection is alot smoother and hassle free. Sayin that might b more hassle than worth to fit fuel injection back in
Nice buy! Glad to see it's being kept whole! I'd spend a few ££ and get the carbs sorted. Get a WIP! :)
Go to track & road for carb setup mate.

The dings are what happens when there used every day but a professional dent restorer will get them out no probs
as for the brakes being seized just free them off i wouldnt be changing anything over, as said the running rich will also just be a very quick fiddle!

How much did you pay for the car if you dont mind me asking?
It wouldnt take much to get it back to how it was, dont go pulling bits off till youve got it back on the road imo
I could be putting 2 and 2 together here and getting 6, but I have a feeling redstig is a more known member signed up to take the p*ss a bit?!!lol
^^^ what made you think that ? lol
Rear quarter looks like it's been shot with a air rifle :(

Well known for wielding axes at novas lol
Whoever it is, let's hope it gets used properly, and doesn't end up stuffed in a unit.
