looks like its the covering material that has crinkled and not the vinyl. i managed to peel back a small area (it was loose) for a photo of the vinyl hard to see the vinyl because its black- iphone camera are nothing compared to carl ziess ones lol-

Just for the record that top layer has always done that over time, the vinyl stays mint tho
