Just seen on PVS' Facebook that the Japspeed Subaru has been stolen during the show at 7pm tonight. They said:

"If anyone has seen or knows the where abouts of the Japspeed Subaru. White, with orange wheels and Japspeed / Maxxis branding please contact Northampton police."

How the F**k are you supposed to nick a car from a car show while it was on a stand.

... Just thought i'd let anyone that's interested know and spread the work.

EDIT:

Car in question:

Vauxhall scene is full of dodgy people.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just came up with the idea of nicking it here and then and it wasn't planned.

Someone on the PVS facebook page posted:

"The police helicopters out and about above santa pod but we've just seen a massive fire start near some woods so I'm not holding out much hope of it coming back in one piece unfortunately."

Not looking good for them. Probably some drunken f****d up yobs that find it funny!

I don't think it's someone's personal car.... It was the promo car...

Agreed I hope they get it back but it's definatly suspicious imo as it was parked so far away from the main gates.

Actually boggled as to how a ****ing car of all things can be taken off a stand and vanish in the early afternoon and not one person question it.

Someones in deep **** for not keeping a keen eye on that, or it was an inside job.

Tbf that proves my point about pv it's turned into a chaver fest like donny show USC etc seem to remember an subapoo being striped in the car park at donny show just not worth the hassle and risk of ya motor IMO billing and nats normally had to miss this year and maybe pv live to see if it's like the old pv enthusiasts not chavers

em a certain rare nova was driven from a show in the past? its not uncommon for this to happen and not exactly a new trend.

at the royal highland show a few years back 5 yamaha quads were driven off the stand in the middle of the day!!! with hundreds of people "who saw nothing unusual"!

^Which Nova was that?

John
11-06-11, 11:54 PM
Mark (novacabrio) had his spider stolen from the travelodge, (not actually in-side billing aquadrome).

blue_peg_16v
11-06-11, 11:54 PM
And that was at billing was it not?
Billing is full of pikers tho and quads with numbers ground off are still easily sailable for off roading cars a different mater only reason a pike would lift a nova would be to weigh it in lol

It didn't need keys to be nicked, Just flick a bunch of switches, and its not even road legal. It is owned by one person too, not a company.

Lets be honest though, If you saw it leaving, it might of been the owner taking it out to a trailer to go home? Unless somebody knew it wouldn't be leaving, which if anybody did, they didn't speak up.

Hayley
12-06-11, 09:47 AM
that car will never be seen again. Its either burnt out or in bits already. Shame but at least it wasnt an Evo. Maybe next year, they will have loads of CCTV if they havnt already.

Titles wrong Japfest is a show. Japspeed is the company the Scooby was advertising.

I agree with Pete. Yet another reason that PVS is off my show calendar.
Mainly for it's venue, topped off with the chaviness that it now brings.

those drift omega's were fooking awesome, I had a ride in one and was really surprised with it. although it didn't seem to enjoy spending all day on the limiter at 7k going sideways lol every warning light it had was on, and I could feel the heat off the gearbox through the tunnel, it was almost glowing lol he even burst a tyre when i was in it lol

It's a real shame it really is.

If it gets returned in 1 peace he is lucky. But with most cases it's stolen for bits or order. And I don't think there is a police car that will match it's performance. It's a helicopter job. Follow it till it runs out of go go juice.

If it's a proper drift car it will be built to have masses of grip and be stable when its forced to break traction, you don't get high speed and lots of smoke from something that breaks traction for fun.

you wouldnt expect a car like this to be stolen, so i reckon anybody who saw it been driven off just thought it was off down the strip or off for a drift, you certainly wouldnt think its being stolen, especially at a show

Takes the pi55 how it was just taken from the show, i assume off the stand?

Lol how people are saying "Why didnt security stop it"

Unless you personally know who should be driving it then you are not going bat an eye lid if you saw it being driven about, or even messed with. I know if i saw it there with the bonnet off, and a couple of people messing with it I wouldn't be A/Bothered, B/Even think about asking what they were doing.... You just wouldn't.

And as already mentioned, the "braver" and more "couldnt give a f**k" you were when thieving it, the less suspicious it would look.

I do hope the owner does hear something, but seriously doubt he ever will. Wouldn't of though it was a couple of 1.2 fiesta driving 17year olds that would of took it either......

And Baxter, i agree with Iain, shut the foook up lol
If you dont like PV then dont go, or post about it. Simples :p lol

Copied off driftworks forum

"Ok, here's what we know;

The car was stolen off stand approx 1830 Saturday evening by two males, one mixed race wearing a baseball cap and the other caucasian.

it was spotted and video'd driving round the M25 anticlockwise at approx 1930 heading towards Windsor.

It was spotted again at Wolf Lane, Windsor at 2100 and 2130.

It is now running plates from a similar Impreza which has not been reported as stolen or tampered with, so it will not flag up on ANPR.

It has a small fuel tank so has to refuel often (try and get CCTV off local petrol stations).

It is most likely in a lockup/container/garage in the Windsor area so listen out for powertools and lights on in these places at night time"

have to flol @ the driftworks website, the oh its in france, oh its on its way to wales etc etc.

Of course there was 2 lads who were at the time and place and took a chance, they wernt thinking lets go to a vauxhall show and steal a subaru then drive it to france!

How do they know its now running twinned plates? if it is then why dont the people report that reg'd car stolen so it flags up! If the police can pull over cars from info on anpr for previous drug charges of the driver they can put a police flag on a possible twinned car!

It's been seen driving around without flagging ANPR, therefore you can assume it's running plates from a similar car which are clean. You don't necessarily know what this plate is.

Spudly
12-06-11, 07:25 PM
But the whole way an ANPR works is it reads the reg and if the reg is uninsured or whatever then it will start flashing its bells and whistles, if there is no plate to read then it cant read it and flash its bells and whistles can it, i doubt it has any plates on it at in tbh!

DW-Nova
12-06-11, 07:28 PM
The fact that it's running duplicate number plates isn't a big give away or anything. The biggest thing is how distinctive this car is! I mean I cannot believe that if it has been driving around on the road that it has not been stopped yet! It doesn't exactly blend in does it!!!!

Dayle_

Thats unreal that we were the ones there at the time, and yet the internet world knows more about it than we did lol

Real shame for the guy who's car is gone but i highly doubt that will be seen, i am however shocked that it doesnt seem to be trackered up, although i suppose the owner probably wouldnt have thought it could get stolen from inside the event but this just shows how easy it actually is to do:eek:

I too cannot believe you would have a car like this and not have some sort of tracker.

I still think some form of insurance type job. The parts on the car will be pretty special and not your off the shelf type of parts so people will struggle to sell it on.

Other than that could be one very good publicity stunt for Japspeed. There 100k car goes missing, and gets in the headlines and on every car related website. 2 weeks later it re-appears without a mark. Nice free publicity there.

I personally think there's more too it than just going walkies, stuff like this has always happened with Motorsport type cars.

But I did put this on the Facebook page as some of the members seem to be looking through rose tinted specs..... I got slated and now think I've been banned from the group for expressing my freedom of speech!

You really think the entire countries police are scanning traffic cameras looking for a single stolen car? A big flashing stolen warning on their ANPR system might grab attention however, that is after all what it's there for?

Point being ANPR only works if it can clearly read the reg plate, if it cant it does nothing at all, why do you think the law is so stringent about all plates being the correct spacing and font, so if it cant read a plate it does nothing, what is it going to do if there is no plate to read, errr yep, you got it, NOTHING:roll:

Yes so it will recognise a car, but without a plate it cant do anything, like i said, theyre hardly going to say on their advertising site that without a plate to read it cant/wont do anything, i think we had better wait for Hayley or someone else who will have more experience and knowledge of this sort of thing to reply, otherwise were going to keep going round in circles and i for one am getting bored of it, not to mention the fact that were digressing badly!

Andy

Heres a simple well known fact, when anpr are set up on a motorway bridge they arent going to stop a car with an incorrect font when theyre there for drug/insurance/twoc and gang/gun related offences.
They are all serious offences.
A reg plate saying FUkk T4RD for example is £30 fine max in that font.therefore like speeding at 80odd mph they would have to stop everything which is impossible, they have hundreds of cars passing a minute.

What security do race cars have...... None. They have no door locks, they have no key to start or alarms..... and obviously in this case no tracker.

I can understand the locks, alarm key etc, but to not have a form of tracker or immobiliser.

The likes of a WRC car cannot be started when not at an event it needs a technician present from the factory to programme the ecu etc.

Im not saying youre not allowed to use it but your small mistake was corrected and your response was to call John a w4nker, that for one wouldve pissed me off, youve gone off at me before when i corrected your spelling mistake, did you used to have a go at your teachers at school when they corrected you, i can imagine you did and this may be why your spelling seems rather poor!

look i know my spelling is sh*t and i admit that!

but you have to sea were i am coming from here i made a silly mistake.

And im not trying to fall out with you either ya plum, im just trying to point you in the right direction is all, PVS imo is what you make of it, we all had a good laugh friday and saturday, sunday was a let down purely because of the weather, if it had been warm and sunny like the previous two days then i highly doubt me and Stu wouldve left till kicking out time, or at least not at 1.30pm lol

I seriously hope my Nova being stolen would generate this much interest & help lol

Haha!

My honest opinion is that it will teach the owner and event organisers a good lesson.

Security at Pod is primitive to say the least, maybe this will highlight the need for a half-decent security system at least.

PVShow has been tarnished with a bad brush once again. People forget about the enthusiasts and focus on all the f*cknuts that turn up.

You get half-wits everywhere and if you prepare for them they're not a problem.

When my nova was parked ANYWHERE out of my sight I took worthwhile precautions-
The fuel pump was disconnected
Kingpin HT lead removed
Ignition source interrupted
Left on full lock with the steering lock on
"Consumable" vehicles boxing it in (106 GTI + saxo hahaha)

Fair enough, if a pikey tea-leaf wants your motor he's gonna take it no matter what!
But the more you can do to make their task more difficult adds to the precious seconds/minutes/hours of time in which you can catch them!
This allows you to retain them for the "police"/hospitalise/dismember/behead/torch them.

Box clever lads.

i couldn't care what other peoples views of pvs are, i just don't like the pod when theres an event.... the people who run the place seem to have a different idea as to what makes a good event than what i have in mind...

back to the imprezza... i am truly astounded that it made it so far without being caught. and there should be some right rollickings flying round

GM did own 20% of Subaru till 2005, so you could argue that the dimpreza could be there lol

Umm whats an LS1 engine, we were all scratching our heads as to what it was till Stupot spotted its a Monaro V8 (is that what an LS1 is, as i dont actually know:p)

MK999
13-06-11, 03:54 PM
Chevy based alloy V8, originally in the corvette and then shoehorned into various cars like the Holden/Vauxhall Monaro etc. LS1 refers to it's earliest form, think they're up to LS8 or so now.

In reference to that, was it anything to do with people on the internet that it was found? I tried reading the thread on DW but its over 100 pages and theres 1 good page for every 5

I know the police found it, but how, were they tipped off or did a member of DW or another forum find it and tell the police?

Same here, spent an hour or so reading the thread on DW, and the amount of disinformation that was thrown around was unreal, like the tard who posted up that it had been smashed up in a chase in an underpass near him, then funnily enough deleted it!

Think it's more in reference to the 100 pages of people clubbing together to find it and the numbers of those that were out driving around the windsor area including a few BDC drivers etc, rather than actual info supplied to the police etc.

If it's been found fantastic, the owner gets it back, now lets delete this thread and just forget about it, and stop moaning at eachother...

Jack
14-06-11, 10:36 AM
Surprised the BBC didn't put a negative spin on that with all the internet attention - usually they're quicker than a hot chutney ferret to point out the evils of Facebook and the likes lol (unless its a M$ related item, in which case they go on about how good it is lol)

Judging by what I've seen of law enforcement in the likes of 'Police Camera Action' etc I dont see there is much of a deterrent to stop thieving scum from TWOCing regardless of what the car is or where it is. A lot of the time they've been had up for a string of similar offences and they've aren't deterred by fines, bans, community service, short sentencing etc etc. They live their entire existences outside the law. Its just a good laugh and a some fun for them with the possibility to make a some money if they are lucky.
Its how they get their kicks - Gone in 60 secs and all the Fast and Furious have just glamourised the whole subject and its now part of popular culture
