sick of reading about it now. my question is why was it allowed out of the pod. pvs organisers need a lond hard look at the suitability of pod as a venue.

Chevy based alloy V8, originally in the corvette and then shoehorned into various cars like the Holden/Vauxhall Monaro etc. LS1 refers to it's earliest form, think they're up to LS8 or so now.

From what I have been told from my mate (he has a ls1 in a relient kitten lol)
they are classed as gen engines.
lS1 5.7 v8 gen 2 etc. They are currently using the gen 3 ls3 6.3 v8 in the cars. the ls7's, ls8's, ls9's lsx's etx were produced for motrosport and larger capacity iirc but I might be slightly wrong

the ls1 is the gen 3. its 5.7. the ls2 is a 6.0 iron block, used in alot of stuff in the us and aus. ls3 is from the corvette. the bigger numbers just relate to comp/ratio and cc. as for the lsx its a steel block thats bored upto 454 as a stroker. the weak point on these is the alloy block thats standard. they crack and flex. plus the stock heads are pants at big bhp.

Seems the naming policy follows no pattern at all besides the LS1 being the first one then lol Didn't know they were around with iron blocks though.

There is a certain sense of irony in a show dedicated purely to Vauxhalls, yet its a Subaru that has everyone talking lol

Surprised Mike didn't get in here first, but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHbNuyubhz0 lol

Why not? Im not even sure theres security on the way out at that time of night?

Do you think anyone on that gate knows whos car is whos inside?

As for no numberplates, if anyone was even at the gate, they probably didnt notice it had no plates.

If they noticed it had no plates, would you be bothered as a security guard, its got nothing to do with them.

If they noticed it had no plates and cared, they probably thought it was going to mateys garage just down the road.

If they noticed it had no plates and knew it wasnt going to the garage down the road, what were they going to do, chase it on foot?

Easyily driven out, without anyone batting an eyelid, as proven here.

As long as the organisers are making money from PVS, they dont care, and beleive you me, they'll make a wedge off of PVS!

i didnt just mean from this incident i meant as a whole, the past 3 years have been crap. flooded, drugs, poor planning etc.

It wouldn't be too hard to sort out gate passes/cards for display stand staff; that won't really protect the cars of the club people or visitors, but its a start. As per usual though hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I would have thought - or rather, hoped! - they'd try to fix up some form of site entrance/exit security next year. I can't imagine they'd just leave it as is without making some form of effort to increase security, however small.

Luckily this incident was resolved fairly quickly with minimal loss, but it should serve as a warning to PVS organizers that their security is severly lacking.

[edit] Dunno about the drugs thing, but I guess the flooding has had a few token attempts to fix - some hardcore and metal plating being put down. Far from ideal fixes though!

What's the story with someone OD'ing there one time? I tried a google search for more info but nothing came up.

according to a few mates who where showing with other sites, theft was rife. one guy had his oil cap and coolant cap knicked. another his valve caps. as for drugs, its not too bad on the club camping but on the other bit there was guys visibly advertising drugs.

Last time i went it took me nigh on 2 hours to drive out so the organisers have obviously addressed this problem at least!

Exactly Benn, at the end of the day I could buy a maxxis shirt and cap and drive out with it, there not going to doubt me are they?

I takes guts but its very easy to steal in broad daylight, its a fact most house buglerys are carried out during the day!

If you have balls, you can steal anything.

When i managed a Argos years ago, a local guy would steal everything.

When 50tvs where like brand new and over £2.5k he walled in, picked one up, cut the tag off, walked to the door to which a member of staff held it open...
If you look like its yours and you know what your doing you'll get away with anything...
