From what I've seen, HIDs don't work in Nova lamps. The beam pattern is horrendous. Those ones ^ look like the beam is going in all the wrong places.

Anyways, here's mine lol Note the comparison pics of HIDs against Halogens, for those who say "HIDs are blinding" :p

Pattern (actually in this pic the OS lamp is pointing too far to the side, hence why it kicks up in the middle - I fixed that later on, but this was merely to show the lamp pattern with HIDs):

No pics of the cav ones yet; the pattern is the same as halogens but still rubbish - I put that down to H4 HIDs with the rotating shield being crap.

It really does depend what the lamps are like, but from what I've seen standard Nova lenses cannot handle HIDs - I've been saying that for a few years now and I've yet to have anyone post a pic of Nova headlamps with a good HID beam pattern. I'd love to be proven wrong!

Unless you got clear lens headlights or projectors then HIDs are a no no for me

^ Get pics of the beam pattern - park it and point it against a wall or something and take a snap.

Meiran, its possible for HIDs to work in complex lenses, my Celica proves that. Its just that some of them, like Nova ones, seem to throw the pattern awry :(

Are the ballasts Ok? They usually emit a quiet buzzing noise when they have power.

It depends how you've got them wired in tbh as there's a few ways of doing it. Do you have an independent power supply from the battery and a relay to activate the lights? If so, check the relay - I've had two fail in the past.

Also make sure they're earthed ok; my dad put the battery back into my celica the other day and forgot to reconnect the HID earth lol

Nothing annoys me more than cars with aftermarket HID's, that drive round with them on all day. Blinding everyone with the hideous blue light.
