as above just removed it today
all runs fine and starts up on the button
93k miles
box loom ecu chip transpoder etc included £250

Z engines are fly by wire and in 02-03 cars onwards as this is a R reg98 car id be hard pushed to see a z engine in it
its a cable throttle thus being a x engine

but its got a pre-cat and soild coils, completely the wrong inlet design

but still it hasnt got a mani cat it has a manifold and down pipe then the cat before the middle box
has one lambda sensor
the throttle is cable not electric
the map sensor isnt on the throttle body either its a seperate unit that clipped onto the bulk head

That is a Z16XEP and were only put in that shape astra. 1.6 16v 103bhp. They are also belt driven like the X16XE. Also the only Z16 Engine to be throttle cable driven!

Hope this clears things up.

my old astra has the same lump and it was a z16 xel
