Rear disc handbrake cable woe

Right, after being sold a short mk2 cavalier cable I went and picked up the mk2 cav estate cable today and couple with the nova long can't get it round the second cable guide. It's still about 1-2cm too short. I don't think there is a cable adjuster under the actual handbrake lever connector but can't see because of the heatshield. My other option is to use the nova short cable and put a few knots in it as a temp fix....

Is there a technique for gettings the disk beam cables on ?

There are two different lengths of cable. Make sure they've given you the long one.

Hook the cable on the hub, feed it thru and join it to the adjuster. Tighten till right.

There isn't anything else that adjusts them.
