I joined yesterday (yeah yeah!) but it said my post had to be verified by a mod before it would show up. Well, still no sign of it and I cannot view the FAQ's, How to guides etc either. :/

Is this the standard practice?

The site is probably like 106's mate, constantly broken

lol They do seem to constantly crash them, which is why I am on there!

As for being broken, not mine. 70+ mpg FTW. :d

Has it got an Isuzu TD in there? lol,as according to some on here they do 70+.
Cant understand why they stopped making such an economical engine tbh LOL

No unreliable Isuzu lump here (my mk3 Astra died lol) just the good old 1500 n/a tud5. < So close to saying turd, but couldn't be further from the truth. The little b4stard runs on fresh air and thanks to the Bosch pump of win I get 20 litres of 'Chefs Choice' for £20.29 at Markro. :)

I remember when I used to pay £7.50-£11 for it, but I'm still saving this way. £8 cheaper for 20 litres of fuel rox my sox. :thumb:

I know it's a spot on little car as I bought it from a mate who has owned if for 5+ years. I'm just after a GTi/Quicksilver/Rallye kit for it to make it look better.
Those kits totally chance the shape of any 'flat arch' 106.

Anyone on here got one? You will save me wading through all the charvers on there, plus I understand PNG's resident txt tlkrz. lol

I still don't get why isuzu would go from making such a good engine, to the Y17DT which does roughly 40-60mpg.

My mates cav did circa 55mpg on a run, never seen 70, that would be awesome.

It's probably a more efficient engine, put in a car with an extra 400kilo, PAS, air con, larger alternator for electrics, nice big multi rib belts to make sure they dont slip while spinning up everything on the engine, dual mass or larger flywheels to make it feel smoother, larger wheels and tyres, with driveshafts to match and ABS CV joints etc, bigger brakes

Modern cars hardly have everything going for them MPG wise.
