Hello, ive got a C16XE and was just wondering if it will go any better with a X16XE ecu and loom setup? Because they rev up a little higher

Comments please :)

Next to no difference I would imagine. Fringe benefit of dropping the AFM, especially if you're going to run wild cams. If you're planning on staying standard with the stock ECU it's not worth the effort.

X16XE uses a different management system, you would need to change a load of sensors to get it to work.
Pointless

Just get one of the super chips you sometimes see on ebay they raise the limiter (and seem to make em a bit quicker).

Stick with your C16xe setup, less to worry about tbh.

Thanks for your comments, ive been told to stay away from the ebay chips though by a few people, but i do want the limit raised abit.

any other options i can go with?

Is it a standard engine?
Power peaks well before the limiter, so a raised limit is pointless.

He has a power box fitted apparently,

de-cat and powerbox mate
apparently to get the best performance from a powerbox... you need to raise the limit, is this true? when in 2nd gear at high revs, near limit it feels like it just wants to pull but then i need to change gear as i cant go any higher in the revs

They should want to start pulling at about 5k. It is true that it moves the power further up the power band.

so could this be the cause of my "flat spots" that i said im getting because i change gear at like just over 6k and then if it goes below 5k its like im getting flat spots but then when goes above then it kicks back in. ?

if this is my problem then i should really get the limit raised?

Everyone I know with a power box fitted has the limit set to about 7300 and they still don't peak power at that, But ARP's are a must to be safe.

Again a remap would be best as the powerbox gets rid of the 3 and a half foot long inlet and replaces it with about half a foot. The ECU in standard form probably doesn't like what you have done.

yeah arp's are next on the list i think, can you remap the standard c16xe ecu?

thanks for all the info mate, sorry for all questions
