I got offered this weber cheap but unsure what it is or if it will fit my mk1 1.3sr, cam off a 36k mk1 1.6 astra.

There should be a stamp on it further down where it bolts to the inlet that will tell you what carb it is

if its a mk1 astra you should be fine! if you also have the inlet to go with it,Either that or fashion up an adapter plate, not sure on the 1.6 jet mite over fuel.
mk1 1.6 astras had the varajet II carb as standard.
what you must always remember about single weber carbs is that they were not necessarily a performance fit, they were also a direct replacement for a std carb. the one car they always massively improved was the ford.. this was because the std ford carb was simply hopeless....

Take a picture of the whole carb. It will be easier for someone to identify
