DIY'ed Backbox.

Out of my boredom, I welded up a DIY backbox, must say, I was suprised at how good it actually sounds.

Opinions?

Oh also, disregard me missing a gear and generally driving like a nan, I've only just got back into the Nova since it's been off the road for a while ;)

Could just be the video, but it sounds 'hissy' so youve either got a blow from the front, or the box is too restrictive for the engine!

Could be to do with, the camera is my iPhone wedged between the dash and windscreen right ontop of the vents? Can't be too restrictive as it's virtually straight through, I've put minimal packing in it.

Even if straight through, the internal diameter could still be restrictive?



Dont get me wrong im not casting dispersions on your handywork, im merely offering a suggestion, but the proof of the pudding and all that, if you think it goes well enough, then it cant be restrictive:thumb:

I wasn't jumping to a defence either :) Just explaining it hasn't had a detrimental effect on the performance thus it can't be restricting it. :)

On a related note, I've been "fine-tuning" the car recently (carb + ignition). In regards to manifold + exhaust is it best to get a custom exhaust and mani, then tune the car to suit, or vice versa?

Err id say setup before and after, as if youre cars running shoite then there is no point whatsoever throwing performance parts at it, obviously yours is carb so the 'fit your parts then tune/remap afterwards' rule means nothing lol

She's running quite well, just since the cambelt and pulley went the engine's had quite an overhaul; Gasket set, flush + fluids, refurbed dizzy, new coil, newly made loom etc. So i'm just trying to get the ignition timing and tuning bang on, but doing it myself as it's something worth learning (obviously with the help of my Father showing me the ropes of Carb tuning, haha).

Been a while since I have been subject to cr*p nova lights. They really are rubbish.
